Re: 2008-09 Cleveland Cavaliers Season Thread

It was another dissapointing loss and the lack of urgency to start the game caught up on us this time... I guess we are at a point that the players are starting to get banged up pretty badly and losing key players to injury which is why its important to win as much as you can early in the season.:)

And there must be a birthday curse on Lebron! He's played 3 birthdays in his 5+ year as a pro and loss all of them...:(

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Miami Heat - Recap - December 30, 2008 - ESPN

Next up is Chicago at home on Friday (Sat at Sydney)! I hope we can figure out or at least remember how to start the game properly.

Re: 2008-09 Cleveland Cavaliers Season Thread

You'll have another chance tomorrow to beat us and see if luck will go your way this time... ;)

The ball rolled our way this time lol, very good win for the heat and very impressed with my boy Cook again shooting 5-7 3ptm-a, he is starting to come along very well

Yeah you got one back... I got annoyed with your boy, hehehe, he got 8 points in the 4th which makes our comeback really hard. :v:

Re: 2008-09 Cleveland Cavaliers Season Thread

They took one from us, but then Chalmers lit the Cavs up for 6/7 triple's in a Miami win.

Who would have thought that through the first 30 games of the season the Heat would be 17-13.

Yeah boys!

Re: 2008-09 Cleveland Cavaliers Season Thread

"Z" was scratched for todays game against the Bulls. He should sit out a few more games and get ready for the Celtics game next weekend. ;)

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas will sit out Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls with a sore left ankle.

Ilgauskas has been bothered by pain and stiffness since spraining his ankle on Dec. 10 against Philadelphia. He missed three games because of the injury. The 7-foot-3 big man, who overcame serious foot injuries earlier in his career, was examined at the Cleveland Clinic and advised to get rest.

Ilgauskas hasn't been as mobile since getting hurt and the Cavs' offensive production has slipped.

Anderson Varejao will replace Ilgauskas in the starting lineup as the Cavs, the NBA's only unbeaten team at home, look to win their 17th straight on their home floor.

Cleveland forward Wally Szczerbiak is expected back after missing two games with a bruised right knee.

Chicago Bulls vs. Cleveland Cavaliers - Recap - January 02, 2009 - ESPN

Great to see us playing like that after a loss.

The issues we've had before this game were addressed and looked at properly in this one:
1. We didnt throw a 3pt shot until under a minute left in the first. We ended up shooting 7-15 3's. We shot too much 3's before this game.
2. Too much standing around and watching as Lebron operates in the other games. This game, Lebron only took 8 shots but had his 1st TD of the season (16pts-11assts-10rbds-2stls-3blks). Basically Lebron made his teammates work on this game
3. We started the game strrongly unlike the past 6-7 games before.

There's one issue that we cant fix yet and this is to involve "Z" more on our offense. It will take some time to fix this as "Z" was reported to be out for at least a month... :( Now we need to make a move for a big man. Maybe get back Joe Smith and trade Wally... ;)

+ Career night for Varejao. Taking over for "Z", he responded with 26 points, 8 rbds, 3 stls. Ben Wallace chipped in 13 Points (big bonus:lol:), 9 rbds, 3stls and 2 blks...

Varejao is a straight out hustler. I wouldn't worry, with Ilgauskas out Varejao will more than come in and fill the void.

Great game by Bron, and a huge win, pretty much confirms Lebron is #1 in the MVP race right now, takes 8 shots, gets a triple double and involves his team in a blowout win.

Once again my boy Delonte showing his worth, quiet game, I think he finished with 14-3-3 and 2 steals but that underrated play always helps get the Cavs over the hump. Hit a few timely 3's, plays great D and facilitates for Lebron - that's my boy.

Ben should keep that up Jimbo... He is close to being like he was in Detroit.

Also, Mo Will could be going to the Allstar game as coach Brown is promoting him to get voted by coaches...

Mo Williams is an overpaid Daniel Gibson?

Daniel Gibson isn't half the player Mo Williams is, and probably won't reach that level for at least 3-4 seasons let alone ever if he does.

Williams can shoot the rock, get to the hole, distribute the ball and score with the best of the point guards. I'm not saying he's an All-Star but he's a serious upgrade and close to being an All-Star..

Wow.. an overpaid Boobie....

Re: 2008-09 Cleveland Cavaliers Season Thread

Very unlikely Mo will get there judging by the enormous quality of guards in the East i'm actually rooting for Jameer Nelson how unlikely that may be.

But one things for sure, Mo ain't no Daniel Gibson - I said he would come in and fix the Cavs problems while doing his thing, and he has.

Bow down to Jimbo - i-know-it-all hahaha kidding.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Washington Wizards - Recap - January 04, 2009 - ESPN Season low for points for us. #-o

Like the other member from the Celtics thread, I should start showing some frustration with the way we are playing lately, but then again what can it do? :(

I just hope that we can stand up to this month's challenges. Games against the Celtics, Lakers, Blazers, NO, Jazz and the Magic are all coming up this month... We could use "Z"'s injury as an excuse but where will that get us? No where! :fist:

So we should start focusing more on our game plans... ;)

Re: 2008-09 Cleveland Cavaliers Season Thread

I heard the Wizards had a good time taking the piss out of Lebron and his "crab dribble" today..

apparently Caron was asked "what do you think of Lebron's crab dribble?"

to which he replied something along the lines of.. "Well I know the crab dribble, uh i mean travel. It's never been legal."

I actually watched that play many times and I think it was a good call... :)
