Re: 2008-09 Cleveland Cavaliers Season Thread

Yeah, Nice to see Andy doing what hes doing!

On another topic, I used to like Pavlovic but since last year I have no confidence in him so I'd say he be traded or not put on the floor often. At least, thats what Im seeing this year!

Re: 2008-09 Cleveland Cavaliers Season Thread

No breakout games yet for Mo but he's been steady. Let's see if he can amp it up now.

Starting Delonte at the 2 is a spectacular move, he was very productive in his sophomore year in Boston and shows he can be a good all rounder, plays strong d and hits the open jumper, finds Lebron on the break.

Hopefully Cavs can make a real run at one of those top 3 seeds.

I just hope they can backup it up with another win. In the the past we've seen one big win then 3 straight defeats to sloppy easy beat's.

Definitely top5 material but not in the top 3.

It's early early days man, they've got another 75+ games to get themselves into playoff shape, and they can definately do it.

Agree completely about Sasha, mate! He has all the physical tools and talent to be a good player in the league, but his brain-melts can be truly horrible to watch. He'll get the ball at the top of the key with a slower defender on him, but 1 or 2 guys sliding into the paint, and you just think: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Of course, he drops his head, gets past his defender with a quick first step, and barrels into a paint defender who's saw the drive telegrammed and has been standinding there talking to the cheer-girls waiting to be run over. I mean, how many charges does he have to commit before he wises up to it??? In the past I've been pulling for him to get it together, but if they can move him/Wally (mainly because of his expiring deal, I'm not ready to throw him under the bus...) and change for a decent piece or 2, I'd be all for it. I see quite a few Cavs fans have been saying to get rid of Andy before he walks, but I'm hoping they hold onto him and try to negotiate a new deal instead.

Lebron James earns Eastern Player of the Week honors! =D>

CLEVELAND, OH - November 10th, 2008 - Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James was named today as the NBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Monday, November 3rd through Sunday, November 9th.

In four games during the week, James averaged an NBA-high 34.5 points on .469 shooting and 9.8 rebounds in 37.1 minutes per game. James has now won the award 14 times in his career: for the first time this season, three times during 2007-08, twice in 2006-07, five times in 2005-06 and on three occasions during the 2004-05 campaign.

At Dallas on November 3rd, James scored 29 points and tallied eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. With his second steal, he became the youngest player (23 years, 308 days) and fastest (395 games) to reach the following milestones in five statistical categories: 10,000 points, 2,500 rebounds, 2,500 assists, 700 steals and 300 blocks. On November 7th against Indiana, he scored 20 of his team-high 27 points in the second half, while adding nine rebounds, eight assists and four blocks in the Cavaliers 111-107 victory.

In the two games against Chicago (November 5th and November 8th), James averaged 41.0 points on .500 shooting, including shooting .444 (4-9) from the three-point range and .897 (26-29) from the free throw line, and 11.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists. On November 5th he finished with a game-high 41 points, nine rebounds and six assists, setting the franchise record for most points in a game against the Bulls. At Chicago on November 8, he posted a double-double with 41 points, including 16 points in the fourth quarter, and 13 rebounds. James became the first player to have consecutive games with 40 or more points versus Chicago since Rick Barry (1974-9175) and has now scored 30 or more points against the Bulls in seven straight games. He joins Nate Archibald (9 games from 3/10/72-10/10/73), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (8 games from 2/13/71-2/20/72) and Oscar Robertson (7 games from 12/2/67-11/9/68) as the only players to accomplish that feat.

The Phoenix Suns’ Amar’e Stoudemire was named the Western Conference Player of the Week. Other nominees for the Eastern Conference Player of the Week were Atlanta’s Joe Johnson, Boston’s Ray Allen, Miami’s Dwyane Wade, New York’s Zach Randolph, and Orlando’s Dwight Howard.

Now 3rd in conference standing behind the Celtics and the Hawks!

Another brilliant performance from Lebron. Another 41 points (3rd in the last 4 games) to go with 5rbds, 6assts and 3 stls! He's really playing great right now!

Double doubles from "Z" and Varejao! And 16pts and 5assts from Mo!

Re: 2008-09 Cleveland Cavaliers Season Thread

Yeah, its really unbelievable! I hope those numbers continue and translate to "W"'s.

He is a stat machine. If he amounts to no championships in his career he will be the craziest stat machine ever and win 3 MVP's.

Haha kidding, c'mon Bron win a ring already :)

Did you see his dunk from basically the free throw line in that game? If not, here it is....

Yeah I saw that! It was a result of great defense from Lebron. He poked away a pass intended for RJ and just race them up to his basket.=D>

Solid win for the Cavs, first great game by Mo Williams, nice stuff. Too bad I just traded him with Caron Butler for Jason Kidd and Richard Hamilton.
