Select Optimum 2021


I agree. Most people are making their money back easily, if not making a little profit (if that's what they wanted to bust boxes for).

As always, there are a lot of people just selling everything they got but that's the scene these days I guess.
 
I haven't received any of the higher end cards as yet but had great fun opening some boxes and assorted packs last few days. Got a good range of players from different Clubs which will all be added to the collection. Very impressed with how these cards were presented too.

The big boy though was the Dusty Medal.... #50/50 (top left corner peeling is actually just the protective film on these guys. card is thankfully perfect).

Explaining to my wife that this guy is potentially a $2k card was a very nice moment of 'see I told you the money isnt thrown down the drain'..

.. she still didnt believe me.

Yea I feel this. It’s usually bankable how unlucky I am with ripping packs. That said my wife (who tolerates alot!) got pretty excited with me on this one after she looked up the odds, and she knows who Dusty is so that helps.

Actually now that I think about it my two biggest pulls (Michael Jordan Fleer ultra 93 scoring Kings) and now this Dusty have both been when doing a box with her… might be something to this

Have to say I thought Dominance were the best Medal cards I had seen but this trumps that.
 
Question for you gentleman. Just purchased a Optimum Max King Influential. Was reviewing my purchase from several days ago, and noticed something when I looked closely at the card. Anyone know why the Max King card does not say "Influential" at the top?

Scrolled through Ebay, and every other 2021 Influential I can find is printed correctly. Was initially concerned I had bought a knock off, but checked the other King cards for sale on Ebay (see pics below), and they all appear to have the same issue. Just appears to be the King card. Anyone know what is up here??

Also, thoughts on what this does for the value? If all 40 are the same (which going by these 3 I am guessing they might be), I presume nothing really changes. It just becomes a thing that happened with this card. However, if say the 01 is printed correctly and the others not, I assume this will become one hell of a collectors item.

Was going to contact Select and see if they would do a replacement, but wanted to float it here first for some thoughts. Keep the error card? Or ask for a reissue (and hope I can keep both)??

Yep every one I've seen is like this. Wonder if Select will fix it for those that send it in.
 

Contact Select, I'm sure they will be redoing these as it's a clear printing error. Yesterday I got a response about my Rioli Jnr sig, they sent me a form and I can return it for viewing and they will send me a redemption card and when the replacements are available (could be 3-6 months I'm told) I can send it in, or trade or sell the redemption card it that's what I wish to do.
Does the numbering position on these Influentials bother anyone else? Or just me? It should be much closer to the edge of the card.
 
if select do a reprint of the Max King, what will that do for the values, look at the Diacos/Daicos Bang's, most collectors want one of each so values there massive compared to other bang cards.

I imagine the cashed up collectors of Saint cards will want 1 of each if Select do a reprint. Meaning they then become harder to find.
 
I noticed the numbering yesterday, and pulled out my previous years to check out.
your right, the numbering should be more over towards the border.
bit of a shame, considering the influentials are some of the best cards select have released
