Im not sure if its just me but this seems to be happening a lot more this year and its a blight (sp?) on the game. I know that freo did it on at least 5 or 6 occasions last week against geelong and it just looks messy.

Im not one for big rule changes but i think a rushed behind should be worth two points. I think at the very least it should be tried in the pre season cup next year

Any thoughts?

Go cats!.

The way the kick in rule is now structured....the rushed behind is a good strategy. You're in a difficult situation...opposition forwards all over you...step back over the line...give away a point. Then it's a quick kick to your running defenders to hopefully kick a quick goal at the other end.
Joel Bowden is an expert at it....it's the Tigers finishing at the other end of the ground that lets them down.

But I agree...a rushed behind should be worth more....and an outside 50 should a super goal (ie 9pts). It would change the way the game is played and would also help stop the prevalence of flooding!!

I have to agree make the rushed behind three points and I'm not adverse to the supergoal being introduced into the regular season.

the preseason already has a rushed behind rule. 3pts for a rush behind. it works very well actually.

Id totally forgotten that!. Hopefully it comes in but i cant see it happening anytime soon.

Allstar cards, im not really sold on that 9 point rule. I mean rocca can kick em from 60 in front all day long but put him 40 out on an angle and hes no chance (JUST AN EXAMPLE KYLE!). Id prefer to keep a goal a 6 pointer i dont think distance of a kick should have any bearing on the outcome of a game.

Im personally sick of rule changes in the AFL. It is something that I agree on though, so I'd only have it on one condition..... they get rid of the hands in the back rule.
