THE world's tennis stars will gather on Sunday at Melbourne Park to launch Rally For Relief to aid the Queensland flood appeal.
Australian Open stars Roger Federer, Lleyton Hewitt, world No. 1 Rafael Nadal, Kim Clijsters, Novak Djokovic and dual Open champion Jim Courier are among a host of tennis celebrities to commit to the charity event.

Queenslanders Pat Rafter and Sam Stosur have been instrumental in organising the appeal with Tennis Australia.

The pair, born and raised in Queensland, have kick-started the appeal.

Word of the funddraiser spread quickly around Melbourne Park today, prompting several top-line players to ask to be involved.

Wimbledon and US Open Hewitt is known to be deeply affected by the crisis.

Federer yesterday used Facebook to muster support for an emergency fund-raiser.

"The floods here in Australia are devastating," the defending Australian Open champion said.

"I am on my way to practice now and am going to speak with Tennis Australia to see if we perhaps can organize something on Sunday to help raise some funds for the people of Queensland who have been affected.

"Stay tuned as it would be great if the sport of tennis can help out right before the Australian Open begins."

Many of the sport's biggest names in tennis last year help raise more than $200,000 for earthquake victims during the Hit for Haiti event.

The event was the brainchild of TA.

TA will soon announce more details.
