We let the cat out of the bag to a certain extent last week by unveiling the Rookie Ticket Rookie Card designs for the upcoming release of collecting flagship 2011 Playoff Contenders Football.*But knowing what the RCs look like is just one part of the equation. Clearly, there’s a whole lot more to know — and love — about this linchpin product.
Like, for example, *the fact that each box of 2011 Playoff Contenders will include two on-card rookie autographs (either a Rookie Ticket RC or a*Rookie Ink*insert), two additional autographs and 15 inserts from a roster that includes*Super Bowl Tickets,*Legendary Contenders,*Rookie Roll Call*and*Rookie of the Year Contenders.
But perhaps the most intriguing aspect of this year’s release is just how Panini America will follow the frenzy-inducing fervor created by last year’s pioneering 14-karat gold Golden Tickets. The answer? With 52 Black Golden Ticket 1/1s that are sure to raise the precious-metal bar. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional details on these beauties.
Other highlights from the product that releases in early January include:
  • Front Row Tickets 1/1s, a 236-card parallel set featuring on-card autographs from the 36 rookies who attended the 2011 NFL PLAYERS Rookie Premiere
  • Printing Plate 1/1s featuring on-card autographs from the 36 rookies who attended the 2011 NFL Players Rookie Premiere
  • Signs of Greatness Autographs from some of the most promising young players in the NFL
  • NFL Ink Quad Signatures featuring such prominent pairings as*Aaron Rodgers/Greg Jennings/Charles Woodson/Clay Mathews, Tony Romo/Felix Jones/Miles Austin/Dez Bryant,*Mark Sanchez/Santonio Holmes/Shonn Greene/LaDainian Tomlinson and*Ben Roethlisberger/Rashard Mendenhall/Hines Ward/ Mike Wallace.
You can get your first extended look at the product in the gallery below. Trust us, there will be much more to come.
