In late August, Panini America will begin a sure-to-be-celebrated new chapter in its MLBPA-licensed trading card story with the updated reintroduction of a trading card classic: 2012 Signature Series Baseball.
The pioneering product returns to the diamond for the first time since 2001, packing three autographs in every six-card pack and a cutting-edge, personality-driven design that places extra emphasis on the personality of each player on the checklist.
What’s more, 2012 Signature Series Baseball will provide a marked contrast from Panini America’s recent MLBPA releases by going light on prospects, instead focusing on the game’s current superstars and all-time greats in a product that’s heavy on on-card autographs.
The highlights of 2012 Signature Series Baseball are many and include . . .
- On-card autographs in the Signatures insert (numbered to 99) from the likes of Josh Hamilton, Matt Kemp, Miguel Cabrera, Ryan Braun, Dustin Pedroia, Mariano Rivera and many more
- Autographs from all-time greats such as Ken Griffey Jr., Cal Ripken Jr., Greg Maddux, Carl Yastrzemski, Nolan Ryan, Pete Rose, Randy Johnson, Reggie Jackson, Rickey Henderson and more
- Rated Rookies Patches autographs of this season’s top rookie performers including Oakland standout Yeonis Cespedes numbered to 299
- Hitters Ink Autographs honoring the game’s best batsmen, both current stars and retired legends
- Lumber Cuts signed wood pieces from baseball’s greatest hitters
- Game Ball Signatures featuring autographs on sweet-spot baseball leather from Hall of Famers, legends and current superstars
