Little backstory first...
...So I have been in email correspondence with Panini and in particular David Sharp (Panini's Customer Service Manager) about getting my Nick Foles Contenders auto from last year replaced since September. Originally David responded back in September he would try and get a replacement sorted but David was swamped at the time so I let it be knowing David would get to it as soon as he had the chance (having dealt with him before). It helped that Foles was starting to get hot so I figured the value on the Foles would only increase meaning hopefully I might get a better replacement.
Well fast forward to Friday last week (the 20th) and David email's me apologizing for the late reply and saying how the Foles Contenders auto is very hot product right now and if I still want to replacement it and if so would I prefer a Raiders replacement or some product. I said I would be happy either way, but my preference would be a nice Raider auto. David responded he had the perfect Raider replacement for me and he would try and get it too me before Xmas. I was holding my breath considering it was the Friday the 20th Decemeber, nothing would happen over the weekend and that left two days for delivery... well low and behold I get a missed delivery card from FedEx yesterday saying they would re-deliver my package. And sure enough it showed up this morning with FedEx Express for a slightly early Xmas present (makes up for me not going to have my Women of Marvel boxes for Xmas
).
Anyway enough rambling here is my replacement....
Jim Otto 2012 Certified Fabric of the Game Patch Auto #d 1/1
My first Jim Otto auto and it is a nice 1/1. I am sure I could have sold the Foles Contenders auto (whenever he ever got around to signing them!) and sold it and got another Otto 1/1 auto but well I'm not fussed. This is an awesome Otto so I was super happy!! I was tempted to check the Panini site to see what the replacement was they were sending me but resisted the urge so it was an awesome surprise.... but it didn't stop there. As well as the Otto as my replacement I got a nice little note thanking me for my patience, supporting Panini and wishing me a happy holidays. Along with the letter, David also included another 4 old Raider autos they must have had sitting around their headquarters...
Fred Bilentnikoff 2001 Donruss Classics Legend Auto (on card auto
)
George Blanda 2001 Playoff Preferred Signatures Auto (#d 086/100)
Tim Brown 1999 Score Inscription Auto (on card again
although I just purchased this exact Tim Brown a couple weeks and have it sitting in my COMC mailbox. Oh well!)
Marcus Allen 2000 Quantum Leaf All Millennium Team Auto (and another on card
)
Needless to say I am super stoked
And this is why I think the customer service of Panini is quickly raising to one of the best in this business (in particular leaving Topps for dead)
