ok prob mavsman will know but i have this prob

i had a video that i transferred to dvd. is there a program that will transfer the dvd into a mpeg or video file so that i can edit it?

I've done that in the past and have just searched for it on a peer to peer program like bear share. Just search for what you want to do, for example I searched under programs "DVD to avi" for avi files or in your case "DVD to mpeg etc.

go check out www.videohelp.com plenty of info there, just search for dvd to mpg or dvd to avi whichever you want

Sorry bud, I dont know much about Video Editing, etc.
Know plenty about DVD copying, but not converting to MPEGs, and editing them....
