Hey everyone... my collecting has switched up a bit... I’ve only been able to add 5 new Ronnie Brewer cards year... I’m done with my 50 greatest autos chase minus Maravich which I doubt I’ll get soon... I’m still collecting Bobby Portis rookie year but it’s not a huge priority... I’ve started collecting sets heavily which has been a lot of fun.
but the part of my collection I’ve been most into lately has been Kobe Bryant. It’s not huge but I noticed recently I had roughly 30 Kobe Bryant cards,I started thinking I’d like to do something and I decided I would try to get 24 of the best kobe cards I could... ideally being 6 rookies, 6 game used, 6 inserts and 6 autos. I’ve still got some movement to make to match both quantity and quality I want but I like my progress. I’ll always have more than 24 Kobe cards but hopefully I’ll be able to cultivate these for a while... there are still about 4 or 5 choices to make before my replacements get tough tu I hope you all enjoy
it really depends completely on the players involved...
2 of the 24 I’ll be replacing first on the list are the triple gold rookie with Garnett and O’Neal and the Mystery Finest with Shaq... now obviously the pairings make complete sense but they’re two of the weaker cards left.
on the dual all-star warm-up with Jordan... obviously a connection and of course it doesn’t bother me to see them paired
same for the triple auto... the pairings make total sense even before they were all Lakers with a chance of a ring...all three high school>nba HOF caliber players... now do I wish it had been TMac or Garnett in place of Dwight...? Of course, but I have no complaints
then you’ve got the Lakers trio with Pau and Fisher... well, I’m from the state of Arkansas where Fisher is from, they both won the 5 rings together and Pau was a huge part of that second run for Kobe... add that the patches on all three players are just killer and it’s honestly one of my favorite cards in my collection.
now the Kobe cards that pair up with smush Parker, nick young and kwame brown...? No, I don’t really want those... a pairing with Payton or Malone from that junk year they lost to the Pistons...? Nope I wouldn’t really want some random pairing with say Yao Ming but I’d welcome one with Reggie Miller, Iverson, Rasheed, Garnett or Hedo because he went up against them in the finals
hopefully that makes sense, thanks for the question!
Might have been a bit more achievable a year or two ago mate! Good to hear the Ronnie Brewer PC going strong too. Set chasing is where I'ma t these days myself too #fortheloveofthehobby
