Prior to me transferring, he was very punctual in replying to emails/fb (<12hr turn around)...as soon as my money was transferred, he stopped replying and I still have not received the cards I paid for. His name is Kalyan Negal (on fb too) and his fb page is named "Sachin Tendulkar and other Indian cricket trading cards"

Sorry to hear of your financial loss. This guy was a member of my facebook group page until the accusations started flowing and just like you describe, he stopped responding. An innocent man tends to like to have his say - Kalyan on the other hand acts like a guilty person would. I gave him plenty of time to respond before banning him from my group in order to protect my mates. I personally have not done any deals with him, but I know a few people who have and the weight of evidence is tilting against him.

It will help if you and others who have been directly affected by him report him to the moderators. Also, I don't think he's been active on here for a long time, otherwise some of us would be calling him out.

I've been sitting on the fence as I've not been personally affected by him and I do know that he's had good dealings with some people as well. What makes him do the right thing by some and rip others off is beyond my comprehension. I also know there are people who have not publicly denounced him, inspite of being ripped off. Perhaps they felt silly being conned out of their hard earned.

Always use paypal like payment options which give you some protection folks. If you look around ozcardtrader, there are a couple of cautionary tales about well known and respected members who ended up doing a runner.

Yes - I've reported him. I originally declined his first offer because he wouldn't accept PayPal. He then came back to me after a couple of months saying he would accept PayPal but I wasn't in a position to buy at that time. So when I got back in contact again a few months later, I assumed PayPal would still be an option, however he said it wasn't. But against my better judgement, I transferred online via my bank.

Two different people. How is he able to scam you if he's buying cards off you and paying via bank deposit? Wouldn't that make you in a more favourable position as he can't claim anything back?
