For only $50,000US I can have this Mikan rare grey back 1948 bowman RC. A sort of parallel of his RC. And just look at the conditon!!!! :o :o :o :o

The Greatest rookie card in the hobby.

I had a Mikan RC for a while and sold it on for a good profit but this would be the jewel in ANY collection! Mine was beat up and only had it for a few weeks.

Ahh I could look at this all day :P

Go for it! That's only equivalent to a nice luxury or sportscar. ;) Or a downpayment to the house of your dreams.

That's a beauty though...

Its not actually graded, just authenticated ?

Look man, you've been a good friend. Heres my house deposit for that Mikan - I dont really need it anyways :P

Nice card but...did any other cards have a "grey back" ??? a parellel in those days seems way before its time..but i may be wrong :? ...feel free to correct me on that one :D ....i wonder why its not graded too

All the cards had a grey back version. Its not really a parallel but more of a print error that made its way into the hobby. Hence the better condition of the grey backs. ANd the term grey back refers to the background behind the player. Cards are blank backed.

As for the grading. With Mikan bowmans its more important to figure out if the card is a reprint/fake than an actual grade. Seeing its a grey back and most are in great condition, the overall grade is less important than the regular issue wich has handling issues of over 55 years.

You have to be careful when buying a card like that un graded as they can be printed and aged quite easily these days and stand to make 1,000's of dollars.

Graham paypal is fine mate. Thanks :D

I'll send lumber and nails as previously discussed to help out with your dream too. I wouldn't want to feel too bad :?

thanks for that reply Chad :D ....thats got me scratching my head! lol......ageing a card...the big "no no" in our hobby ..but i dont know how you would go about doing it without trashing it??....guess leave that to the rip offs ..lo

An old beaten up one lends confidence to a geniune card. AND even beaten up ones command over $1,000US. Any antique dealer or even the internet can tell you how to do it with tea, smoke and other techniques.

So with something like this its better to be careful.
