Bulls talking to Jazz about Boozer

Noooooooooo...... no way!! As much as I wanna get rid of Boozer there is no way I would send him away for Tyrus Thomas.... are they crazy!?

As a Utah fan, I don't mind the move. I don't see Tyrus being anything but a reserve to Millsap...and he's 1 of the most over-rated players in the league...but to remove Boozers contract and get something in return before he tries to cash in next year "for his family", wouldn't be an entirely bad thing. The Jazz have some depth at the the 4 and wouldn't miss him too much, despite him being a beast offensively when healthy.

I'm hope they do look for some better deals first though.

It's certainly CrAzY on paper ey Brett! But it frees up Millsap, ensures we keep him, and gives a highly over-rated, but could come good, young guy in return.

good for Utah, bad for bulls to put it simply. Utah moves a huge contract, Utah gets a young up and comer in return.

Moves a huge contract!? A contract that comes off the books next year? Don't think it's about getting rid of boozers contract mate... it's about getting something for him before he leaves next season in free agency..... & they sure can get a better deal than Tyrus for him.... albeit, the team taking him is also taking a chance that he won't leave as well.... so someone like Bosh (who will likely leave as well) fits well (& who I would LOVE to have in Utah)... however I'd say Toronto wouldn't do it as they likely would have more chance of retaining Bosh after the recent Hedo pickup than retaining Boozer.

But do we want to get someone better than Tyrus? In that deal we get Tyrus who has potential and can fill a need, plus an expiring contract to clear some cash. It frees up Millsap also.

The only other rumour I have heard so far is Boozer for Rip Hamilton, straight swap. I like Hamilton, and he's a good player, but I'm not sure Utah need a SG so badly? Would rather clear a bunch of cash and get young potential.

Yeah.. as I stated in the other thread this trade is growing on me...... doesn't mean I still wouldn't look for something better though.

I can't see it happening, but surely I can dream
[ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4319607"]Chicago Bulls prefer Jerryd Bayless of the Portland Trail Blazers in in 3-way trade talks including Utah Jazz - ESPN[/ame]

A trade of Captain Kirk, Tyrus and expiring contracts that brings in Boozer and Bayless would be pretty good even if Boozer turns out to be a loaner. Good for the Bulls I mean not to bothered if it is good for everyone else :D

What about Millsap? If Boozer is traded won't the Jazz do all they can to retain him.

The Blazers have offered Millsap an offer between $32-36 million over 4 years.

If I was Millsap I don't think I'd want that deal though, just get bench minutes behind Aldridge and Oden?

My understanding is the Blazers haven't offered him anything yet for fear of locking up their free cap space for too long while the Jazz consider matching the offer or not.

But the whole point is, the Jazz are trying to move Boozer so they can retain Millsap all that much easier and avoid luxury tax.
