1994 / FUTERA / SHANE WARNE SIGNATURE redemption

what do you guys think ot hsi card? it is numbered to 1000 which isnt really limited when you think of the number of collectors in Aus compared to usa....

what sort of price value would you guy put on it?

thanks

You are right they arent that limited (except for the Slater which he didnt sign them all)

When Futera stopped making cricket cards, there were people (Card Wholesalers) selling them off cheap....Taylor/Boon/Waughs etc at times were as cheap as $40-50.

Not sure what they go for these days?

I also read somewhere that some of the autos (specifically Steve Waugh) were signed on the plane over top England for the Ashes series...not sure how legit this is but very cool if it were true?

Cheers
Matt

Its not a bad price, but for an extra $20 you could get this....with a better signature.

I think your MAD paying that much for one of those Warne Auto's as they did not come out in packs or boxes......they came as a whole Cricket card set including a 9 Card Signature Set for about $500-600. I know there was only 500 sets released but the set included a stack of Autos so apart from Warne's not many of them are selling for over $30.00. As for the Futera Redemptions - Well considering Futera went under when there were still a lot of their boxes out there it would mean a lot of the auto's went un-redeemed.....so I doubt there are 1000 out there!

I LOVE the 94 Futera Auto Redemptions.......I have the Warne & the Boon Auto's :)
(I also heard they were signed on the plane like Matt said)

I bought them when everyone was flogging them off cheap but they have gone back up in price from what I have seen. I recently saw the Waugh brother ones sell for about $100 each!

thanks richo...I always thought they were inserted autos redeemed...singularly

No unfortunately they are not redeemed cards or even Auto cards inserted in boxes...........if you have a look at the auctions you will eventually see one that describes where the cards are from. that said, they ARE very nice Auto's!

Here is a link to the info on the FULL Set released in 2004/05

I paid $80 for the Futera Warne signature card, numbered 708/1000 which i was pretty stoked with.

I got Boonies for about $50 Delivered and Warne's for about $70 but that was quite some time ago so $80 for Warne's is VERY good these days so well done!

Card Mania | 2003/04 Cricket Australia Trading Cards

I e-mailed the people selling the sets and you can get all of this for $400:

The Album Factory set (128 cards in total) includes 100 common cards featuring Test Players (17 cards), One-Day Players (17 cards), Domestic Series (18 cards), Women of Cricket (11 cards), 2003/04 Season Review (16 cards), Award Winners (8 cards), Young Guns (6 cards), The Chappell-Hadlee Cup (7 cards) and 19 special insert cards - Triple Centurions (6 cards), The 200 Club (11 cards), Steve Waugh (2 cards) as well as 9 exclusive Signature Cards of some of the games biggest names in Australia cricket including Shane Warne, Ricky Ponting, Shaun Tait, Simon Katich, Matthew Hayden, Cameron White, Michael Clarke, Justin Langer and Michael Bevan.

So to pay $100.00 just for the Warne Auto (as someone suggested) would not be good value for money (IMHO).
You'd better off buying the whole set (as described above) :)

Richo you are right the whole set for $400 is better value, however I want to clarify why I said go for the 04/05 for an extra $10....

The reason why I said he should consider the 04/05 Warne was that in comparison to the 94/95 is that it is better looking auto and is limited to 500 not 1000.

Put the 2 cards side by side and one that has half the production run and a better auto (IMO) it would be better value.

If the buyer has the money, the set is definately the way to go!!

Cheers
Matt

I really like the 1993/4 set I just think the autos are nicer....warne's auto have changed greatly from early on.....

to me it is all about scarcity and the quality of the auto...

I think the newer autos of him are scribbles....

same with Matt Hayden....

I think Warne must have signed all 1000 of his 94/95 autos in one sitting with the same pen - they are little more than a scrawl and the pen is almost worn out on most of the sigs.

The Warne sig in my avatar is one of only 150 signed from 95/96 - it seems he took more time, care and effort with a smaller run as the sigs are more detailed with these.

I agree that the 2004/05 sig is clearer and a nicer looking card than the 94/95 - some however might prefer the 94/95 version as it was Warne's very first signature card.

I am very jealous of the 708/1000 - great score b_dean182!!!

Yeh I just bought it.....

Looking for the rest of the set if anyone is looking to sell....

thanks

mate i've got slater and m waugh but not looking to sell. I pulled both these from packs!! i might go for the set later when the pips settle down. i let the boon go before xmas.

The Auto in your Avtar is THE BOMB dude!

Would you believe my MOTHER-IN-LAW bought 1 PACK and pulled that card!

UNBELIEVABLE !!!

I pulled the un-signed Hat-trick card and was happy enough with that (lol)

Matt - I think you'll find there isn't 1000 Auto's from Warne out there from the Futera Series as they went under when there were A LOT of unredeemed cards still in sealed boxes. I know the run say /1000 but there wouldn't be that many out there :)

The point someone made about it being his first Auto is a GOOD point too :)
Cheers

Thanks Richo - the signed hat-trick is still my pride and joy. While the redemption thing is a good idea, i still think having sigs put directly in packs is probably a better way to go. The 4-6 week wait to get the signed card is painful!

Futera went under 3 years after the 94/95 series came out - Warne would have signed all 1000 - but yes there is no way all 1000 would have been redeemed.

Brad

Looking at the auto on the hat trick card you ahve a point it is a nice auto....but I think the 1993/4 is better than the newer ones.....
