Hey gang.

Was thinking of posting predictions and live results for the PPV in here. Is that allowed? Would anyone be interested? Anyone else watching live?

Let me know.

Psyched for this event. Great card.

My picks -

Cote defeats Lawlor

McGee defeats Jensen

Schaub defeats Gonzaga

Ortiz loses to Hamill

Sanchez defeats Thiago (although this one will be close)

Shields loses to Kampmann

Lesnar loses to Velasquez

But what do I know?

Of course all this may be moot because Main Event's feed keeps cutting out...

Cote v Lawlor live now.

Lawlor by Unanimous Decision. Cote got pwned on the ground.

And I'm off to a great start. 0 from 1.

McGee's walk in music - What It's Like by Everlast. Nice.

McGee by Submission, Round 3

Jensen was controlling the fight early. McGee seemed to get it together late in the first.

Crowd booing Koscheck and chanting GSP during this match!

Stand up battle round two. Jensen started to fade. McGee looked strogner, finished the round with a takedown.

McGee came out swinging in the third. Got Jensen on the ground. Full mount. Elbow strikes. Chokes him out.

Showing replay of Guymon v Roberts. Awesome gator roll for the submission win for Daniel "Ninja" Roberts.

---------- Post added 24-10-2010 at 12:59 PM ----------

Dana and Rogan trying to shout over crazy polka music in the arena.

WE ARE LIVE next.

Schaub v Gonzaga coming up.

---------- Post added 24-10-2010 at 01:10 PM ----------

Weirdest beard I've ever seen on one of the event officials. Just sayin'.

Schaub by Unanimous Decision

Feeling each-other out in the first minute. Schaub quick jabs. Couple of good shots early. Schaub blocks a takedown.

WTF is this crowd booing about?

Some great punches exchanged throughout, the vast majority thrown by Schaub. Gonzaga knocked down / fell over a couple of times. Schaub impressive, but in a division that contains Lesnar, Velasquez and Carwin... not sure if a title is in his future.

2/2 from you.

No I picked Cote as well.

2/3 now.

Ortiz vs Hamill starting now. What a card...

---------- Post added 24-10-2010 at 01:46 PM ----------

Almost surreal watching Ortiz being introduced in the Octagon after so long.

---------- Post added 24-10-2010 at 01:48 PM ----------

Crowd loving this. Chanting for both guys.

my bad i need glasses ahahaah, im even better at 1/3.

hopefully ortiz and velasquez to win.

Hamill by Unanimous Decision

Hamill was really impressive. Great control on the top. Good, precise striking. He looked more like an old-school Ortiz than Tito did.

---------- Post added 24-10-2010 at 02:08 PM ----------

Sanchez v Thiago next.

---------- Post added 24-10-2010 at 02:12 PM ----------

Wow. Sanchez really in the moment walking out. Looks very intense.

man im on fire 1/4 might go look for a live stream before lesnar and velasquez.

Sanchez by Unanimous Decision

Good exchanges early. Great takedowns by Thiago. Went for the submission at least four times. Throwing good shots end of the first.

Thiago agressive early in the 2nd. Sanchez countered and went for the takedown and ended up sitting on his chest in the middle of the ring.

Referee seperates them, and then Thiago nearly gets a Kimura.

Crazy grappling on the feet and Sanchez gets the most insane slam I've ever seen! Look for the shot of the expression on his face in every UFC highlights package from now 'til the end of time.

Great exchange to finish the round.

Thiago goes for a takedown to start the third, but looks tired and Diego ends up on top. Thiago goes for the Kimura again. Sanchez gets his back with a body triangle. Thiago slips out but SAnchez chases him across the ring and ends up on top again. Thiago nearly gets a d'arce choke, but Diego pops out. All Sanchez on top throwing shots to the final buzzer.

Wow. What a fight. Diego has never looked better.

Shields v Kampmann next.

Man this show is going quickly! Sign of an exciting event I guess.

---------- Post added 24-10-2010 at 03:04 PM ----------

Shields by split decision

Pretty even first round. Real mixture of striking and grappling. Kampmann had good counters for a lot of Jake's takedown attempts.

Kampmann gets a big knee early and goes for a choke, but it dowsn't seem to worry Shields, who eventually ends up on top.

Kampmann gets up and lands some hard knees in the clinch, but again Shields ends up on the top on the ground.

Shields seems by far the more tired of the two at the start of the 3rd. That brtutal weight cut seems to be taking its toll.

Kampann controlling the ground game. Strong choke attempts but can't get it. Shields gets hits back and the final round finishes in that position.

Crowd booing again. Ignorant punks.

Main event coming up.

---------- Post added 24-10-2010 at 03:07 PM ----------

I'm too excited about this one to keep notes. Will just give random thoughts post-match.

---------- Post added 24-10-2010 at 03:08 PM ----------

4/6 so far

---------- Post added 24-10-2010 at 03:14 PM ----------

Kudos to Lesnar for shoving one of the walk-in guards out of the way. Been waiting for someone to do that for two years now.

---------- Post added 24-10-2010 at 03:18 PM ----------

Sign in the crowd - "Yes We Cain"

---------- Post added 24-10-2010 at 03:24 PM ----------

Velasquez first round TKO!!!!

Wowwwwwww!

That was two giants smashing each-other, and one came out on top.

---------- Post added 24-10-2010 at 03:52 PM ----------

What a great PPV! Well done Dana and the team.

Great card. The nightmare v Thiago was an absolutely brilliant fight. Unbelieveable.

Bloody Brock. the one time i was actually going for him he goes and gets himself annihlated. Ahhhhhh. not happy.

I thought it was a great event.

The Sanchez fight was my pick for fight of the night.
Ninja for Sub of the night.
Cain for KO(TKO) of the night.

Brock was very gratious in defeat, did well for himself.
I feel a change of avatar coming!

Good event summary by the way. You may have missed your calling in life!

found this for anyone, who didnt get to see it, music annoyed me.

I very much enjoyed it. I kept telling people Cain is gonna whoop his ass in 1 or 2 rounds !

Definitely #1 HW in the world. Should beat Dos Santos who is the only real danger. Machida has trained with both and said Dos Santos is the only danger at the moment.

Definitely in the top 5 P4P for me.

Before disputing it, really think about it. Who is the most perfect fighter in the world regardless of weight ? Put it this way.. what is BAD about Cain ? what are his faults ? he's so well rounded, smart, TOUGH as nails.. I see nothing really.. maybe being a purple belt. But that will change soon enough. Dos Santos is purple too which is interesting. Cain won the BJJ blue belt championships only about a year after starting training jits. I'd say his ground game is superior to most ! just Nog and Mir would be worries at the moment, if it ended up in a grappling match.. which it wouldn't.

Too many rankers are afraid to put Cain above Silva, GSP. I am not ! GSP can't take heavy punches, Silva can't stop a top class wrestler. Can't say that about Cain. Cardio machine even though that is a HW's worst enemy. Takes damage well. Puts gameplan together etc

Only fighter in the UFC to not have lost a single round ? hasn't lost a round in 9 MMA fights.
