The general ebay/fb thread

What a ferking lowlife sook.

I detest eBay but it's a neccessary evil for those in the collecting game. You certainly meet or encounter plenty of sh1t stains but once you create strong relationships with others, it makes the "hobby" much more enjoyable and stress-free.

I must apologise. I did this rant and the bloke finally sent it like 20 mins later. 5 days after i paid, so not the fastest, but at least its on the way.

I will see if i get the correct item now ;)

Ok, so I was trawling through ebay items for sale and I saw a pic of a card I was after. An autographed baseball card.

I was immediately excited and just bought it now straight up.

Now I read the title and it seems they've mixed up the photo and they're actually selling the non-autographed version, but the autographed version is clearly in the photo.

This is a simple SNAD and I will be able to return/refund?

was the price comparative to what a base version would be or auto version (as in was it likely they were hoping to deceive someone?)

could request to cancel before they even send to make it easier stating the mixup

Price was definitely in the base parallel version arena, but it's plausible that the auto version would be mistaken for it.

I paid $14USD and bought two PSA9s for $27USD previously.

Hi, Have any of you ever come across a card on FB or Ebay where you cannot find it anywhere else on the internet? Is this normal?

I mean, the obvious answer for me here is that it's just not listed anywhere else. Facebook Marketplace and eBay are common sales platforms, so that's a given for most things, not just cards. Not 100% sure if that is what you mean.

Yeah it was a card that i liked but couldn't find it on any card site or anywhere else. But it just had the wrong name in the description. I ended up finding it.

Not going to name this particular seller but his packaging was woeful. I purchased an $18 footy card with free postage so make it a $14 card. This card arrived wedged between two bits of cardboard without even a penny sleeve.

Now I'm getting used to not receiving a top-loader - even for a $30 card - but to not even get a penny sleeve is a joke.

I received two footy cards this week without so much as a penny sleeve but at least the other seller had put the card( also between two pieces of cardboard) in an envelope. This card was also around the $15 mark.

Are these sellers just ignorant or are they just so tight that they can't even put the card in a penny sleeve? Unreal.

I gave them a positive but my comments make clear it was way below par. I thought initially it's because these are huge sellers of anything and everything that they don't know what a penny sleeve is but some of their other listings show cards in top-loaders, so they do know. This was just cheapskate city.

I must be a mug putting a $3 card in a penny sleeve toploaders, teambags and 99% of the time in padded envelope. If I have a bad vibe about the person( almost no feedback and buys an untracked card around $15) I'll put it into an envelope with tracking. Still sleeve, toploader and teambag but cardboard to brace it rather than a padded envelope. And for that service I get feedback from 1 in every 4 buys.

P.S. I'm starting to run out of toploaders since I stopped going in breaks. On the flipside it's great not having the postie knock on the door to make me sign for $2 worth of cards and plastic. :)

You still breaking?

You know when you have a feeling? A feeling they're trying to pull something on?

I had it when someone said they wanted a card by Friday (today).

I posted it last Saturday and now i'm getting messages why it hasn't come. (13th to 20th estimated via Ebay)

100% going to cop a INR, but at least it's only a cheap card

Does their name rhyme with 8088sledge?

I'd have go back and look. Might be past 90 days though so may not have access to it anymore. How do you put an acetate card between pieces of cardboard minus a penny sleeve? Card was also scratched but I couldn't be bothered.

Still there. The seller name rhymes with Choo Choo Train.
