Yep official release date usually coincides with delivery days.
I should have boxes and starters arrive Thursday but you never know for sure until they arrive.
Trying to order or increase allocation before you have received cards is impossible and when it is it is at least a 2 week delay before you receive them.

depends what they end up doing with them i guess, if its the same as last year then i think you will see a few people trying to get the set again but like you said i imagine some backlash, but if they change it, could be a free for all again...
 
Here is an update from TLA with a Limited Offer:

As per previous years, inserted within the Traders 2018 packets there are two signature Legend Cards limited to 208 per card.


To incentives and reward collectors to chase these rare cards TLA will produce a third Legend Card in 2018, this card will feature both Legend images and will be individually numbered to 28 (this card is not signed)


The double image card will be housed in a three panel gate fold mini album, the mini album will also house the two Legend Signature Cards once they are presented to TLA.


The process for claiming this special Limited Edition card is:

  • Collect, Trade or Purchase one each of the 2018 Traders Legend Signature cards.
  • Once you have secured these cards contact TLA customer service and register your two Legend Card quoting the players name and the cards unique gold foil numbers found on the back of the card.
  • Your two Legend card should be sent into TLA via registered post:

  • TLA will send both Legend cards back to collectors along with the mini album and third limited edition double legend card.

Here is another update from TLA.

Once again in 2018, TLA will be producing a special standalone set for collectors who obtain all 16 Premiership Predictor cards from the 2018 Traders Collection.

After taking into consideration collector feedback from 2017, the make-up of these sets will differ this year. As always, TLA takes on board both positive and negative feedback and attempts to use this feedback to continually improve our products.

As such, in 2018 the Gold Premiership Predictor sets will consist of the following:
  • 16 individual cards – each card featuring the 2018 Team Photograph for each NRL club
  • Gold foil stamping and numbering of each set
  • Premium-style, high end collectable printing techniques (with specific detail of the finished product to be provided once the design is confirmed)
These sets will be strictly limited to 50, and individually numbered. Numbers will be allocated randomly to the 50 collectors who send in their complete sets of Predictors.

Collectors will need to send in all 16 predictors via registered post, as well as sending an email to [email protected] to register their details. Please include name, address, email and phone number in the email, as well as the tracking details for the cards being sent in.

Be sure to collect the full set of Predictors as soon as possible to ensure you get your hands on one of these premium sets!
 
Hi all. Ive decided to start collecting again after a 10 year hiatus and im looking forward to traders being released on thursday. Just wanted to ask arpund and see if anyone knew of any physical trading card shops around the North Brisbane/ Sunshine coast area. When i used to collect part of the appeal was going into a trading card shop and checking out the stock and talking shop with the staff. Whilst internet stores are quite handy, its just not the same.

Welcome back mate.

I believe there is a smaller shop on the Sunny Coast at Maroochydore and then Fast Break Sports at Nundah. Both of these stores stock NRL in smaller amounts.

Most newsagents, service stations, Coles & Woolies will have stock but most of the hobby is online these days. @Top End are based at D’Bay and they can sort you out and @redtorana is out Logan way.

Thanks for the info.
Ive purchased a few of the 2007 series through warren @redtorana and he was great to deal with.
 
Finally got my three boxes.. my view in the cards:
1. I do like the look of the kangaroos, SOO and season to remember.
2. Do like the backs of season of remember with club poster.
3. Base set reminds me abit of 2012 select cards.
4. Parellels looks nice
5. Club hero’s - look the same as last yr.
6.my only hit was a predictor for dogs. 210/218.
7. Value for money, it isn’t !! I feel that I wasted the $$, I think it should be at least a numbered hit in each box, in which they could of used the SOO or the WCHO as numbered.

Atm feeling disappointed over it all
 
What's peoples thoughts on the Legend Signatures?
I was expecting the players to be in club colours not Australian jerseys.. Why TLA why???
 
For Freddie I can kind of understand as he was a Penrith junior and GF winner before going to Bondi.

Blocker should be in Balmain as he was a one club player.

Don’t forget Raper, Coote & Lewis Legends are all in green and gold to!!

I don’t really see the value in Traders boxes. I usually go starters and random loose packs.

Yeah I gave it anothe to, last year was good and wasnt half bad . Just opening this time, and seeing what I got as in value for $, wasn’t impressed. If I knew about the pinks earlier would grabbed box of starter packs ( though I usually grab a few of them)

I don’t think the big hit ratio or value is any different to last year, just luck of the draw I guess. Aside from SAS Authentics all cards will drop significantly in price in 4 weeks, that is the best time to grab them.

The Pink Startoons are a great addition but only about 1:18 starters. I will be interested to see what $$ value they settle at. I think $20-$25 as all starters will be busted so quickly and the market will be flooded!!
