And Tim mannah has re-signed with the eels until end of 2019.

He's the heart and soul of the club

Every club needs a Mannah. Tough, reliable and a great advert for the game. Every club needs one and they breed great culture.

Even though Soliola has only been at Canberra for 2 years I like to think he is Canberra's version with Papa his heir apparent. I think you can credit Sia with both Leilua & Papa's best seasons to date.

Was the dogs, as long as we keep the effort from 2016 going forward we will be ok going forward.

BA has changed the culture of the eels in the time he has been there and we don't have a soft underbelly that we had for so many seasons when the going got tough
I personally think the Parra spine would concern me if I was a supporter:

French- is a good winger but fullback unknown.
Norman - gun but loose off field anything might happen
Gutherson- inexperienced
Robson - old
De Gois - average
King - injury prone
K Pritchard - rookie

K Edwards - gone.

Cheers

Would rather ours then dragons

French is young yes but has a massive upside and is more a fullback then winger.

Norman would of learnt his lessons from last year.

Gutherson is going to shock a few people, will be most improved player in the game next year and has to only play a support role as a non dominant half.

We only need quick service from 9 and a guy that will make his tackles as we have enough flair coming from elsewhere.

Edwards will still be a eel in 2017 and is dynamic off the bench

Remember the back end of last year French over took Gordon as fullback. we had Robson and gutherson as 6 and 7 and we were competing with teams and gave raiders who were on fire at the time a massive scare. Missing from the side that day was also beau Scott, Brad takairangi and tepai Moeroa

Just saying..........

Yep the Dragons have some issues but also but I only see upside like you for the Eels, In essence 3 out the 4 our spine aren't the worst, Dugan / Widdop / McInnes we are missing one piece of the puzzle a quality half, who knows someone may step up.

Parra Yep games with no pressure the boys stood up for sure A full season is another question that is unanswered not saying they can't just stating they haven't.

I can see your blue and gold glasses are on as in reality I personally
would say they experimented with French at fullback not that he over took from Gordon.

Bring on 2017

Sad news today with former eel and rooster chad Robinson being found today deceased after going missing on the 28th of November.

Rest in peace to chad and all the best to his family

Tragic and my heart goes out to the family and glad they have some closure.

Bevan French was always going to be fullback long term for us, was a matter of when.

Think the dragons will struggle for as long as McGregor is their coach for.

Going to be a very entertaining year 2017.

There are some old experienced teams that are always solid, cows and storm.

Then some cracking young sides in raiders and panthers that will try and stick it to them.

Then a few unknown quantities like us, Warriors and more that will want to prove a few people wrong

just a random question (i was looking at all the catchment areas and how they have changed over the years), when raiders pulled out of their queensland catchment south logan, did any other team (Gold Coast/ Brisbane) pick the area back up?
