It’s back and it’s loaded with talent!

Heaps of new competitors and some of the old hats going head to head for the coveted prize of being crowned Ozcardtrader PC Battle Champion!

There will be 3 rounds where I will randomly group together the competitors and have them each submit 2 cards to be ogled and voted on by the Ozcards public.

Round 1 will be 4 groups with 4 competitors in each. The top 2 vote getters from each round will progress to the next round until we have only 1 champion remaining. I will personally donate a nice prize to the winner and will also create a unique Sig or avatar that the winner can post on their profile to boast for as long as they want.

Voting will be open for 1 week each round to allow the seasonal visitors enough time to come in and have their say.

Let’s get it started!

Now we just sit back, bask in their greatness and wait for the impeccably accurate commentary from Ozcards' own @skip20 to tell us what we should have seen the first time we looked!

Good luck everyone!

Few big OZCT names gong head to head to head to head here! Let's get this sorted.......

Resident Aminu super-collector KB goes for the jugular straight away! This patch obsessed collector probably has enough drool worthy jumbo patches to keep a PC contest going well into 2016! With that many to choose from you know whatever he offers up in round 1 is gonna be good and the Certified RPA /25 is no exception. This patch is straight off the Clippers logo and you might say he has really dotted his 'I's with this jumbo offering. The good thing about Aminu is that his autos had that wicked looking nasty scorpion-esque look to them and this one is on card too. You can't really see it in this pic because of the flash but we all know it's there! Stitching and breaks a plenty but still only the three basic colours. If I'm gonna take issue with this card I know he could have gone harder with a green or more impressive patch and the auto isn't one of his earlier lean mean looking scorpions, this is his later cuddly rounder scorpion sig (if that makes any sense at all!). The Crusade Black is a true 1/1 and it probably means a super collector of this calibre has the rainbow, but just going on what I see, I can;t see much because of the bling overload! I've seen heaps of people busting Crusade but can't say I've ever seen a 1/1 black before. I love the medieval look of the Lions in the background like it is the Aminu Coat of Arms being led into battle. The colours on these cards are arguably the best in the biz and to have the black is scaling the absolute pinnacle of what Crusade has to offer. Best of the bling! Need to work on those photography skills though youngblood! An Aminu-riffic start to KB's campaign.

Hairyangryfella who isn't so hairy or angry apparently btw, gives the PC showdown it's first taste of trans-tasman Kiwi-ness! Firstly, let's acknowledge the effort to get the pics onto the best background in the comp with what I can only assume is an MEI game worn jersey from Big Steve Adams himself. I know we're looking at the cards here but as part of a PC showdown that fact is pretty impressive in and of itself. Onto the cards! The Silo patches are one of the best offerings Panini has ever produced. Nice big on card autos with great action shots die cut with, in this case, an absolute chunk of a patch which complements the jersey colour and blue auto, nice three colour team patch but would've really benefitted from a splash of colour like that famous OKC orange. As it is I even like the white perforated background to this patch. I prefer the earlier Silos in design but this one easily holds its own in the design stakes - definitely a Panini flagship product and one of Adams best RCs (if you can call it that) - I'm just going by what the little logo tells me! Flawless by name and flawless by nature, but is this card white and gold or blue and black? Or a bit of both! There is not a lot to complain about, the numbering is sweet and the whole card is designed around the premise of showcasing that big on card auto instead of placing some sticker there as an afterthought. Great use of foil and right into the highest of high end cards, good pic, low numbering , nice design - auto ends a bit streakily and the design team could have pushed the boundaries a little bit more, but sometimes less is more which I think is what they were going for here. Some Kiwi gold from across the ditch!

Strop brings the Dwightmares to his rivals but pulling out the impressive Exquisite Enshrinements straight off the bat in round 1! Nobody else really did holofoil like Upper deck and its displayed in all its glory here. It's the subtle little touches like the serial numbered foiling and the framing of the picture with pillars on the left and right for a card called 'Enshrinement' set this card apart. Massive on card auto /25 to boot! Bold black sharpie on a shiny background is always a good look. Not sure if some of the corners are a bit dinged up or if its part of the background, The only other things that I'd look to improve are the slightly streaky auto and to wipe that dumb look off his face, this card definitely screams out for a portrait type shot though. The Abs Mem have always been a bit of an under-rated product imo, bit hit n miss but they do deliver some great looking cards and patches. A good example is this 4 colour Magic which coincides nicely with the action pic (should have been a picture of him dunking though - "Frequent Flyers", c'mon Panini get with the program - especially for a dunk champ like Dwight!) The Abs Mem always have a nice 'sheen' to them and I love the design of Frequent Flyers to look like an airline ticket, Row 12 and sseat C indeed very innovative imo. I woudl have given massive bonus points if someone had the foresight to have Team: Magic and Final Destination: LA or Houston! Hey small things entertain small minds, okay? I'm not sure of the numbering but guessing out of 25 or so, think Strop may have been holding a bit back for round 2... Big effort form Superman in round 1.

SimonJ just brought a cannon to a knife fight! He's not messing around! NT Logoman - Kaboom! Not much to say really the Jerry West Silhouette / NBA logo speaks for itself! Gotta love the fact the card was built to accommodate this piece of memorabilia. However even Logomen cards can be improved... Even as an ebay 1/1 the #4/4 isn't something I want to see on a logoman card! Some logomen cards are even numbered in the double digits which really makes it lose some of its mystique, desirability and allure. Not sure about the choice of pic either, a bearded 40yo hipster Dirk tryingto get up and down the court isn't what I want to see alongside my logoman card! Pic is still nicely incorporated into the card but you all know what I'm getting at, right? Plus, it doesn't matter ow ugly that cannon is, it's still a cannon and no knife is gonna stop it! Private Signings showcases Dirk's killer auto which he has totally let loose on this card! No streakiness and all right where the auto should be, nothing over the lines in a very nicely designed product. Again, I'm not sure of the numbering and the pic could be better but I don't think it really matters, did I mention this guy brought a cannon out in round 1? Re-dirk-ulous round 1 goodness, gonan be hard to follow upon that effort!

No donkey votes! Make your vote count!

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar...

This missed the cut for my entries but a little bit of cardception for ya - him pictured wearing the actual jersey it's on top of:

I'm already knocked out here, but I better see some great big Dirks in the next round ;)

Bonus points for brown-nosing and admitting you want some great big Dirk action! heh

Not many guys can say they own the very jersey (well, t-shirt, let's call a spade a spade) depicted on one of their cards - that is seriously cool!

Haha, very cool. Love the write-ups mate, top effort!

Oh yeah, patch was to /5

Well done to the other lads....AWESOME cards!
