Im stunned..... I honestly hope Hayne goes well over there but feel for a lot of the Parra fans as he pretty much was their team.

I reckon he probably made his mind up once he won the Origin series and realised that he probably wasnt going to win a premiership with Parra anytime soon.

Cheers
Matt

Watching the press conference - he's said he's learnt a lot about the game from youtube and playstation...

Hard to hear a guy who hasn't played a finals game since 2009 say he's achieved everything he can in the game.

Feel bad for Parra and their fans - I reckon he'll be back in League for either 2016 or 2017

I particularly like how he said he knew he was going during SoO.

So all those Jesus Christ poses were just to stroke his ego. LOL!

And did he tell Para about his plans? Because that's a shed load of salary cap freed up that they could have been chasing players with. And I feel for Para because they lose their marquee player, 20 odd tries a year and all those sponsors, membership and advertising revenue based around him.

Good on him. Good luck.

On the other side, I hope the NRL start looking at marquee allowances, higher caps and higher minimum wages to the poor schmoes who put in week in, week out to make sure these stars that leave have a team around them.

Wow Hayne... Just Wow....

What position would he even play in the NFL......

that pretty much guts the eels and rips the heart out of the attack....

wow

I would say he would probably play at RB. WR would be a bit harder to pickup with the learning all the routes etc

One of my favourite players for years now.. sucks losing any great player from the best game of all!
Rebuild time for the eels now? .. He'll free up some big $.
Hope panini or topps release a sic rookie card for him!

The timing of all this is interesting. I heard a fairly big rumour about Hayne a couple of months ago from two different sources - though like all these things, rumours are to be taken with a pinch of salt (and no, I'm not going to say what I heard, as none of it is my business). But I am left wondering whether or not that played a part in him decamping.

It could all be a ruse to get out his contract and sign with Broncos though ;-)

Spoke to a pretty reliable bloke out at penrith, choc and brett stewart are likely to be running out in blue and yellow next season that could be in teresting, dunno why they signed reece rob though if thats the case

And does anyone realistically think that a 26 year old Aussie with no actual playing experience in NFL is going to crack it in the NFL?

I'd accept Brett Stewart for a Season - if Hayne is back for 2016.

Hayne leaving may free up cap space but at this time of the year - not a great deal of options present to invest it. If Stewart is available - it may be unwise to look a gift horse in the mouth...

Well done to Hayne, he's achieved all that he needed to from league, to be able to financially set himself and his family up. Once your able to do that, I guess you can do what every you want, and chase what ever dreams that you have.

As for the worst case scenario? Come back and there's a contract waiting for you in the NRL .

He's young, athletic and has the desire to make an impact in the NFL. He just needs a bit of time to develop and understand the plays. He will come good!

Looks like NSW's one in a row may just stay like that, due to this departure

I was thinking he's doing a benji:p. Broncos must be licking their lips patiently waiting... Or Bulldogs:D

I can't see Hayne as a running back being able to protect a quarterback on pass plays, basically need to be able to stop a 130kg athlete one on one. Will be interesting to see how far he gets.

Not sure what the position is called but I could see Hayne being the punt returner/ receiver, as for trying to get out of the eels I doubt it, he always said he will return to the eels as it's part of the conditions if he doesn't make it in the NFLand comes back to nrl

Hayne currently has no contract with an NFL team. The season has all ready started. The Super bowl is in February. I think there is a fair chance Hayne will still be playing in the NRL next year.
