bellamy the spastic wants the same team. piss of gidley. swap lyon to centre. bring in carney and gallen for creagh.

a team without idris is a damn good team! 1 tackle made. and 2!! MISSED TACKLES THAT LEAD TO TRIES! and he didnt even do anything for the try he scored!:mad: i knew it i was saying it from the start idris cant defend! denfence wins origins! waste of space

I don't think the rain helped anyone last night, in hindsight it was a perfect night for Gallen. I don't think we should make too many changes as it hasn't helped before, so let's give the nucleus another shot.

I agree Cooper has to go and has blown his last chance, so for the least number of changes Gidley to 5/8, Lyon back to the centres, like everybody but the selectors seem to agree on, and Gallen into the starting side.

Hayne and Idris will be a worry defensively but hopefully score more points than they let in.

1.Hayne
2.Idris
3.Tahu
4.Lyon
5.Morris

6.Gidley (c)
7.Kimmorley

8.Weyhman
9.Ennis

16.Learoyd Lahrs
17.White

Disclaimer: opinion will probably change before selection night.......I would love to see a 5/8 stand up to be counted and then Gidley goes back to fullback, Hayne to the wing and Idris warming the bench and big Tom having a run for Canberra. although he did make some great metres last night in limited time.

I'd of picked Pearce originally if not injured but now would leave him for game 3 giving these guys another crack.

You've gotta be kidding me! They hardly went to him when he finally gets ON the field, he misses 2 WHOLE tackles, and he's the reason they lost??? Maybe the should've just made it the Paramatta team vs QLD, huh??? How about Hayne's 2 missed tackles, and 1 ineffective tackle? ;)

Anyway, Lyon in the halves was a predictable dud move, neither he or Kimmorley really stood up, and I'd be happy for 2 young fellas to get a shot in the halves next time. Maybe Carney, and either Pearce, Mullen, or Tim Smith. And they've gotta get Hayne back to full-back where he belongs, and either drop Gidley entirely, or start him off the bench as a utility... Watmough needs his head examined, he physically CAN'T seem to keep his hands/knees away from the ball! And in general, the entire forward pack needs to harden up! All this damn talk about fire & brimstone, putting it on the QLD pack, targetting Lockyer and Thurston, and what do they DO??? Not bloody much! Either they were told by the coach to not start anything, not give away any penalties; or they're a bunch of damn skirts! When someone put up that video of Creagh with the tutu spliced in, I thought it was a bit harsh initially. But after that game, it seems pretty much dead on!

In short, I think NSW needs: 2 SPECIALIST halves; Hayne at full-back; Gidley on the bench or gone; start Idris, and possibly rotate hime into the forwards, maybe at lock, for short spurts; keep Ennis, but have Farrah on the bench as he can also give one of the halves a rest if needed; and a harder attitude/game by the forwards as a whole! Even if you have to bring back Mason and maybe Poore. And maybe slap Perry a few times just before kickoff to ark him up a bit, he was brought in for aggression but left it in Manly!

Your right axeman.....It was interesting the forwards were very quiet in a game were nothing should have been left behind. Did anyone really charge full tilt into them......you know psychotic like, frothing from the mouth with their eyes rolling back and screaming....... no it was meant to be a mistake free grind....origin needs to be explosive not purely percentage footy.

I'm not sure what Bellamy's game plan was but I sure didn't see anything inspiring....time for him to go because he has been the one constant throughout all these loses.

PS Wouldn't Carney and Smith be a bad boy pairing.......

i never said it was why they lost! i just stated that defence wins origins and i was just saying idris stats was sh*t that night! and they did go to him he played a whole 40mins with more missed tackles then tackles! and i didnt say hayne was playing any better too. and if you saw not only did idris move up he stuck to close his man on the left, which makes him easy to draw in by the attacking side a common flaw by him even at club grade, which forced hayne to either come in with him and/or eventually stay back but it leaves hayne with a one on one situation! i think hayne as fullback or nothing because his **** on the wing atm he hasnt played on the wing for a whole year or give him someone that will work with him or vice versa, someone that will work well with idris. but having a centre(a centre that cant play in any other position) on the bench was pretty stupid you could see that are forwards/second rowers were pretty exhausted by the end of the game.

IMO sorry mate but both the tries were Haynes fault and the commentators even said that as well

Lol! Yeah, I agree about Carney and Smith, and personally, I'd love to see it, or something like it. The selectors are so caught up with trying to stop the maroon flood once, when whats the point? They're already tied for the longest winning streak, and after we dropped game 1, they're a huge chance of taking sole ownership of the record. Eventually we're just going to have to bite the bullet and bring some young blood in. Or maybe they plan on trotting Johnsie out, "Weekend at Bernies" style, every time the chips are down for the next 10 years, who knows? :p

As for the forwards in Game 1, I saw exactly the same thing. My dad, who's a maroon supporter, was even shocked at how quiet they were, especially after all the talk of a brutal game, and past Maroons talking about the refs needing to keep control... Hell, I think the curtain-raiser would've had more fire if it had've gone ahead...

oh the irony, Idris defence. Hayne mose well have been playing second row lol because he couldn't stay on his wing everytime i looked hayne was in the second row or centres and got caught on their first try in boyd and inglis's try

+1 for you mate well said

first half, yeah most probably! but first two tries in the second half no! watch it again and you'll see what idris does in the second half he does exactly what i explained! and im not saying haynes ****ing better his sh*t too, on the wing!

One of the second half tries were his fault...Sorry not both...When he rushed in he should have trusted IDris in that situation but gave them an overlap

when? the second, second half try? when inglis scored? watch it again! he does exactly what i explained. even took out someone without the ball! attackers draw him in easy!

I want a halves pairing that can kick the ball. So many Noddy kicks were lucky to go 40m on the fly. Todd Carney for example - he's got a thumping boot. I'll never forget his field goal attempt in the City vs Country 20-all draw in 2008 - kicked from halfway and still going up as it snuck past the left upright. A big boot for clearance kicking to get us out of our half, a 40/20 threat - that's ideal. Carney and Pearce in the halves for me, they're gonna get a run sooner or later.

here's my team without both gidley and hayne(who I rate as the most overrated person around)
1/ Dugan
2/ Morris
3/ Lyon
4/ Tahu/Morris
5/ Champion
6/ Bird
7/ Kimmorley/Carney
8/ Snowden
9/ Ennis
10/ White
11/ Creagh
12/ Gallen
13/ Lewis

14/ Weyman
15/ Leroy Lars
16/ Perry
17/ Dean Young

Although I prob like Rekless' team most, Gallen and Bird add some real mongrel and aggression the Blues need. All the fire and brimsome talk was all fizzle in the end. I was hoping for Harragon/Carroll type clashes and was a bit disappointed BUT the weather was bad so I can't be too harsh

I agree with Pop, Hayne shouldnt be on the wing but unfortunately his positional play at fullback is not as good as Gidley's (beats gidley otherwise). Idris was not ready for Origin, his defense still needs work and confidence.

My team is as follows

Here is mine
1.Gidley (Dugan when he retires)
2.Morris
3.Tahu
4.Lyon
5.Dugan

6.Hayne (the Idris try was from a Hayne pass and he can Kick)
7.Pearce (if fit)

8.Weyman
9.Ennis
10.White
11.Watmough
12.Gallen
13.Hindmarsh

14.Farah
15.Lewis
16.Tom Learoyd-Lahrs
17.Waterhouse

Being a Queenslander I read with interest all the discussion on the NSW Team.........but they arn't going to get anywhere until they settle on a stable halves combination that can work with the no's 1 and 9. For the NSW supporter all the experimenting and looking for a combination is not doing you guys any favors and NSW will continue to loose games and the series because of all the chopping and changing.

A lot of the NSW players are in form players and stars for their clubs but unless those stars start working together its just not going to happen for you.

If NSW can ever settle on a stable team of 17 players (with the odd change) then you will be a force again in Origin, until then u might as well put the entire parra team out there as suggested before, at least they will play for each other.

BTW, I love that new word..............fivepeat............:)
