NEW YORK - Al Lewis, the cigar-chomping patriarch of "The Munsters" whose work as a basketball scout, restaurateur and political candidate never eclipsed his role as Grandpa from the television sitcom, died after years of failing health. He was 82.

Al was a great guy with basketball knowlege coming out of his teeth don't mind the pun. He was a scout in the early days of ball and knew his stuff indeed. He had a nice vintage collection and was pretty passionate bout it including most of the lesser known guys wich some he even got into the league.

He had a good run and all the best to Al's family. :(

Apart from Jeffs articles and Keiths humour?? LOL

Yeah the articles have got better Clarkey. Strange that I posted this on Beckett first thing this morning and not ONE reply???? Not even the mag itself??

I really hope they put something in the next mag. Its rare to get first hand insight about the league these days from someone that was there. Al was even in the stands the night Wilt scored 100!

I would have thought at least one person watched sat morning TV here as well.
