Have a look at this....Antoine Walker is filing for bankruptcy and his ring is on the list of assets .....maybe up for sale:

Championship ring on list of assets

MIAMI -- Former NBA all-star Antoine Walker has filed for bankruptcy. In Chapter 7 documents filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of Florida last week, Walker reported having $4.3 million in assets and $12.7 million in liabilities. Walker's 2006 NBA championship ring, valued at $6,000, is included in a list of assets. It's not the first time Walker has faced financial trouble. In November 2009, he agreed to pay more than $900,000 to settle bad check charges at three Las Vegas casinos and avoid trial on felony criminal charges. Walker was a three-time all-star with the Boston Celtics. He won the 2006 championship with the Miami Heat. Walker's attorney did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

man that is so lame.

surely they can let him keep his championship ring.

$4mil assets and $12mil liabilities, then anything he has is not his.

Note, he has $4mil of assets listed.....so those are what he has given as his assets. I am sure there are other assets he has hidden away somewhere.....he could have tried to hide his ring (such as to a family member) if he really wanted to keep it.

It amazes me these guys have so much money through their careers yet still manage to squander it all with stupid decisions.

Most of them come from a poor background and have no idea about how to handle money. Plus i'm sure there agents and mangers take a fat cut of the paychecks.

Its always sad to see when things like this happen. I hope he can get back to playing some good ball again soon.

Yeah you're not wrong, opportunistic managers & agents would be a major cause of alot of these incidents. They are supposed to be there to help/guide these guys but often are only in it for the moolah.

Why did he retire? I was out of the NBA game when he had his career
