Read it over at beckett. The way i see it is like this - given UD's legal and financial troubles since 2009, they had no chance of even being invited to the table. As to Topps .... they have to be prepared to meet the NBA's global marketing demands or they have no chance. Panini has been a long time international distributor of products hence they get the deal - simple. No one's pushing anyone else out.

When you put it like this it makes sense from the NBA's point of view. Panini have done what they said they were going to do (whether good or bad from a collectors point of view) and UD/Topps are too risky. It would have been good to see it go from an exclusive deal to something with an option for a competitor if someone picked up their game.

Yeah and pretty much most quality UD stuff from that era I reckon.
Might be cheaper to go to the US and sit in on an MJ signing session.
