It’s been called a product fit for a king, and for good reason. Panini America’s regal Crown Royale Basketball franchise has been a dominant, die-cut force in the basketball card kingdom for a number of years, what with its trademark Silhouettes and Rookie Silhouettes and that funky crown-cut base set. And in two short days, the product will make its triumphant debut for the new season. On average, each hobby box of 2018-19 Crown Royale Basketball (12 cards per box, 16 boxes per case) will deliver one autograph, one memorabilia card and two inserts or parallels.
Up to six Hot Boxes per case will deliver a bonus second autograph. Other big drivers for 2018-19 Crown Royale Basketball include the super-rare Kaboom! chase (falling roughly once every other case) and the aforementioned Silhouettes and Rookie Silhouettes. The base-set parallels should be popular with player collectors with a variety of parallels including Crystal (numbered to 99), Crystal Red (numbered to 49), Crystal Purple (numbered to 25), Crystal Gold (numbered to 10) and Crystal Platinum 1/1s.
