One glimpse — at the uniquely die-cut base and insert cards or the still-stupendous-after-all-these-years Silhouettes — is usually all it takes for even the most casual collectors to know they’re looking at Crown Royale, one of the most venerable and distinctive products in the trading card industry. With that in mind, know that Panini America officials have introduced a few new regal twists to next Wednesday’s release of 2014 Crown Royale Football to accompany the aforementioned brand staples.
Perhaps most noteworthy to longtime fans of Crown Royale is the completely renovated Rookie Signatures insert that takes its lead from the Silhouettes concept by backing player die-cuts with various types of foil. The effects, as you’ll see in the gallery below, are quite cool.
2014 Crown Royale Football also delivers a new die-cut pattern for the base set and the vibrant foil parallels that collectors have come to expect. Each hobby box will deliver one autograph or memorabilia card per pack. Earlier this week, the Panini America Football Product Development team spent time overseeing packout for the product at the production facility; the resulting gallery showcases just some of what they saw.
