The Official 2009 NCAA Tournament Thread ***SPOILERS***

The top sums it up - this thread is purely for March Madness.

It officially kicked off today with the first game, which saw Morehead State (20-15) defeat Alabama State (22-15) 58-43. Kenneth Faried lead the way for Morehead with 14 points and 21 rebounds.

Morehead State and Alabama State were fighting to secure a spot in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament as the #16 seed in the Indianapolis MIDWEST region, and did so. They will now face #1 seed Louisville on Friday.

The breakdown of games for the first round can be seen below:

can someone explain to me though how the regions work? i don't understand how North Carolina is in the South Memphis Region and Duke is in the East Boston Region despite them both being teams based in North Carolina?

Villanova is awesome mate they are into the Sweet 16. Pretty sure they take on Duke now for a spot in the Elite 8!

Yeah people may be scared of the spoilers but surely they would come in and talk after they'd watched the game. I guess there is no diehard NCAA fans here..

I somehow picked that upset and had Cleveland State beating them in the first round. I don't have much knowledge of college ball so my picks are mostly down to hunches or flukes.

That's pretty lucky mate. I don't know heaps and heaps but I know a bit about the major teams and Wake Forest has got a stud point guard called Jeff Teague. Of course I also like them since CP3 came from Wake so I had them going to the Final 4.

Quite a dissapointment they didn't make it.

Well you've got a good gut feeling mate. If you had bet on them at a TAB or something the odds would've been something like 1:8 haha reeling in the $$$.
