Captain Kirk and the BatMan leave the Team USA Roster, and Nick Collison is added!

LaMarcus Aldridge also withdrew from the Roster after experiencing soreness in his left heel.

In the CHICAGO DAILY HERALD, Mike McGraw writes “Kirk Hinrich faced a difficult battle to earn a Team USA roster spot for the Olympic qualifying tournament. But any suspense ended Monday when Hinrich withdrew from the team two days before training camp was set to resume in Las Vegas. A Bulls spokesperson said Hinrich withdrew because of a family situation and is at his suburban home. USA Basketball offered no further details.”

In THE SEATTLE TIMES, “Sonics forward-center Nick Collison was added to the United States basketball team's training-camp roster after former Kansas teammate Kirk Hinrich and two others pulled out on Monday. Collison will join 15 others, including Sonics rookie Kevin Durant, in Las Vegas for practice starting Wednesday. The roster must be trimmed to 12 the day before the FIBA Americas tournament begins on Aug. 22.”

It is a surprising move for Team USA. The selectors did not go to a young superstar but instead gone to a steady young big man who does his job when he is on the court. It is a good choice because Team USA needs some size (strength) to compete at the international level.
 
same with aust squad we dun see the best play nemore, n as i get havin some role players may work the talent that the u.s can bring they should be good enuff to adapt. they need shaq to play thats for sure
