Hi fellow card enthusiasts,

I bought some NBA cards from Gumtree a few months ago and apparently the cards went missing in transit. I received an empty mailer and the seller advised he sent them 100%. Auspost completed an internal investigation and could only advise that the delivery driver confirmed the mailer was light weight. The cards went missing June 18th somewhere between Bulimba Post Office, QLD and Canberra.

I’m hoping with the assistance of the card community, we can possibly catch the people who did it or retrieve them.

Below is a list of all the cards with PSA cert numbers or card numbers.

1. 19/20 Zion Williamson Prizm Base PSA 10 – 58610062
2. 19/20 Ja Morant Prizm Base PSA 10 – 58610061
3. 19/20 Coby White Prizm Silver PSA 10 – 51637053

6. 19/20 Coby White Optic Holo PSA 10 – 48590581

12. 19/20 Coby White One and One Rookie Dual Jersey Autograph – numbered 38/99

Can I please ask if you see any of these cards, to send me a private message. A reward offered for information that leads to recovery of cards.

Thanks heaps

I may be wrong but I believe you can lodge them as stolen to PSA. It will show up any time someone looks up the number and then people can report where they are.
But look into it, I may have that wrong

Hey Coopz,

Thanks for the response.

I actually thought the same thing and contacted PSA in July. Apparently they cant get a location from a search and they can only deactivate the certifications as long as there is a police report.

Yeh, thats what I meant. Sorry I wasnt clear

I would deactivate the serials in case someone tries to sell them down the track.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the cards were probably never sent...

As soon as I opened the mailer and saw there was nothing, my heart dropped and I instantly thought scammed. However I have been in contact with him since it happened and ive given him the benefit of the doubt for now. He initiated the AusPost investigation and has been replying to most of my questions.

Mailer was in perfect condition and glue was intact. Although its probably easy to use a razor blade to cut through the glue and stick it back.

Unlikely. I would think it's more likely you were sent an empty mailer/ cards were never sent.

Wouldn't Aus Post have a record of the weight of the mailer when it was sent?

The guy who "sent" the cards has his scam down pat by the sounds of it. He's covering all bases so he looks like the innocent party. Do not be surprised if he turns around and files a claim against you, op.

Youre probably right and im just being too trustworthy. Its a shame there are people out there that do these things.

Yep another excellent point Trent. Mailer weight says .008kgs. Ive raised with the seller who is playing the ignorance game

Ok. So nothing was sent unless the seller can undeniably prove otherwise.

The only thing that is saving him is that ive dealt with him in the past and he sent the card without issues.
What was the value of that sale compared to this one? (You don't have to use values, perhaps this one was 3x larger for instance)
