Voters on NFL.com have made their choice. Quarterback
Robert Griffin III of the
Washington Redskins is the
Pepsi Max NFL Rookie of the Week for games played on November 15-19, the NFL announced today. Griffin completed 14-of-15 passes and four touchdowns, finishing his day with a 158.3 passer rating. Griffin also picked up 84 yards on the ground as the Redskins beat the
Philadelphia Eagles, 31-6.
Griffin was selected from among five finalists through fan votes on
NFL.com. The other finalists were wide receiver
Justin Blackmon of the
Jacksonville Jaguars, cornerback
Alfonzo Dennard of the
New England Patriots, wide receiver
T.Y. Hilton of the
Indianapolis Colts and running back
Doug Martin of the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com throughout the month of January. The Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Year will be announced at the second annual “NFL Honors†awards show in New Orleans on Saturday, February 2, the night before
Super Bowl XLVII.
