Back in the day, when the Indiana Pacers played in pinstripes and made a habit of venturing deep into the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs, they were led by the lean, lethal and legendary Reggie Miller, a simply sublime long-range shooter who retired following the 2004-05 season as the NBA’s all-time leader in 3-pointers made. Miller has since been surpassed on that leaderboard but his legacy — and his legend — remain forever pristine.

In the years since his retirement, Miller has continued to stack up accolades. His No. 31 jersey was retired by the Pacers in 2006. The lifetime Pacer was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012. In 2013, his No. 31 was retired by UCLA. One thing Miller hasn’t done since retiring? Sign trading cards for inclusion in an NBA product. Today, that changes in a big way.

In a monumental signing that took place last week, Miller — who often sparred verbally with celebrated Knicks fan Spike Lee during games and eventually earned the nickname “The Knick Killer” for his penchant for punishing Spike’s team — sat with Panini America’s Tone Stakes to sign key trading cards for inclusion in 2016-17 Preferred Basketball and for Panini Instant. While Preferred Basketball won’t arrive until August, Miller’s special Panini Instant cards will be available at 2p.m. CST today on the Panini Instant platform.

In the meantime, here’s a must-see sneak peek of the triumphant return of Miller’s autographs to NBA trading cards. Enjoy the gallery and stay tuned for continued coverage.
