Fueled by in-demand rookies, a chase-worthy arsenal of autographs, and a strong mix of newcomers, veteran stars and legends, Panini America’s Contenders Draft Picks franchise is enjoying quite the banner year in 2017 thanks to scorching-hot releases in both football and basketball. Early next month, baseball gets the Contenders Draft Picks treatment.

Set to arrive on October 4, 2017 Contenders Draft Picks Baseball shares many of the same attributes as its football and baseball brethren, including autographs from some of the game’s top draft picks, a new configuration (18 cards per pack, six packs per box) and lots of value. On average, each hobby box of 2017 Contenders Draft Picks Baseball will deliver six autographs (one per pack), one parallel and a combination of 100 Season Ticket base cards, Season Ticket variations and inserts.


The highlights of 2017 Contenders Draft Picks Baseball are many and include . . .

  • At least two on-card Draft Picks autographs per box (some boxes will have three).
  • Variations for all on-card autographs and limited parallels such as Cracked Ice (numbered to 23), Playoff Ticket (numbered to 15), and Championship Ticket and Printing Plate 1/1s.
  • Limited parallels on all Draft Tickets, Prospect Tickets and International Tickets including Cracked Ice, Playoff Ticket, and Championship Ticket and Printing Plate 1/1s.
  • The following 2017 first-round picks will have on-card autographs in 2017 Contenders Draft Picks Baseball: Royce Lewis (1st overall/Minnesota), MacKenzie Gore (3rd overall, San Diego), Brendan McKay (4th overall/Tampa), Kyle Wright (5th overall/Atlanta), Austin Beck (6th overall/Oakland), Pavin Smith (7th overall/Arizona), Adam Haseley (8th overall/Philadelphia), Keston Hiura (9th overall/Milwaukee), Nick Pratto (14th overall/Kansas City), J.B. Bukauskas (15th overall/Houston), Clarke Schmidt (16th overall/New York), Alex Faedo (18th overall/Detroit), D.L.
