Got my box/tin of Marvel Premier today and couldn't resist not opening

First up...

Base of Cyclops (102/199) and Rocket Raccoon (086/199); Gold Spectrum Daredevil (19/25); Storm Code Name 'R'; Iron Man Code Name Printing Plate (feels a lot more "flimsy" than normal printing plates); and Rocket Raccoon Character Sketch (no idea who by!)

And my panel sketch...

Deadpool, Wolverine and Psylocke by I think Bienifer Flores

Overall, pretty average break I think!

Ouch, yeah the sketches let you down a bit there...they really should be better in a product with that sort of price tag. You should be able to turn around the plate and parallel for a bit of a return though, pretty good characters to get I'd think...

Yep it is pretty disappointing to get sketches in a premium product that I could have pulled from a much lesser value product (even if it is a 3-panel sketch). Nevermind, these things happen in this hobby!

Unfortunately, this is the case. I sometimes wonder though, do the card companies just think they can sell anything and smack it with a big price, call it "premium" and we're just supposed to take what we get ? Which like you say isn't a whole lot more than you get from buying 2 $60 boxes ? In boxes like this one you get maybe $70 worth of sketches in a $250 box that is supposed to be the bees-knees when it comes to sketch products ? Pretty wrong really, in this case it's just lucky you didn't pay the full price I guess....

How would it be if Premier was just that, premier sketch art, only top stuff from the best artists, people would be tripping over themselves to buy it at full price...but now we're all waiting for the price to drop to somewhere where we're willing to take the risk...and if we get great stuff, it's a bonus not expected!

Yes indeed!! It is easy to see why people are not buying this product and why it is dropping in $$$ so much. If a company is going to release a "premium" product they need to make sure it is actually premium with every part of the set. Having sketches that are of the same quality that come one per box in sets that sell a quarter of the price is not having a "Premium" product. Thankfully it is not quite as bad as the Panini and Flawless fiasco!

Was just looking up what some of these sketches and hits are selling for and there is some great prices.... if you are a buyer! I thought I might slowly put together the character sketch set and have been looking for a few bargains and have picked up some decent sketches for under $20 ea. Also the Code Name patches looked to have dropped to around $20 ea now they were originally selling for $60+

Yeah, sold my Magno base "Beast" sketch for a whole $25. I might sell the 3 panel black cat one day, but to be honest, I quite like it and as I probably wouldn't get a decent price for it, I may as well keep it...

Wow really? I figured they'd be $5 throwaway garbage because a letterman set within a comic product makes little sense to me.

But I did pull the storm 'S' so if you're keen, hit me up :D
