Got hold of a few Broncos and some other nice inserts over the last week or so.

Trying to fill this insert set with 2 colours / primes. The Ngata is actually 3 colours - tiny black bit in the bottom right corner.

Just to get the Superbowl spirit going - both of these are number 8's, Ravens 8/99 & 49ers 8/49, from different ebay sellers.

Nice Hillman patch in the Rookies & Stars. Looks to be part of an '0', '8' or 'O' though which wouldn't be part of his number '34' or 'Hillman'... Then again I think some of the jerseys the players wore at the Rookie Event where most of these jersey patches are from were numbered '0'.

I love the Department of Defense jersey cards. Slowly working on both versions of this set myself - the normal jersey and prime jersey versions. I have an extra Nnamdi Asomugha if you need his card for your set too of the non-prime version - all red jersey swatch piece.

I sometimes wonder if these patches are legit player worn, which brings me to Dept of Defense. Some of the patches I've seen don't match the team colours, I've seen normal Revis cards with a red patch but is there any red on a Jets' jersey?

Anyway, there's not too many of these around on ebay atm but I did win a Brian Urlacher (plain white patch) a few days ago to add to the collection. Maybe I'll just get what I can on the cheap and if a prime comes along I'll up the ante.

I think most of the Department of Defense jersey cards are from Pro Bowl jerseys which is why they are odd colours.

I have a Revis Red and White Prime patch (#d/15 for the Prime version)

The Hillman is likely from the Rookie Premiere - a lot of the Rookies hadn't been assigned their numbers and so wore 00 jerseys.

Like Ekalb said, Revis red patch is likely a Pro Bowl Jersey swatch...

Still, personally I'd expect that the patch on the card matches the colour of the jersey on the card (at least in some small way). I just wouldn't buy these cards that have odd coloured patches.
