Game 13 VS Nets - 11th September, 2007
WIN 55-48


Mavs Rookie steps up to give the Home Team the edge on the visiting Nets.
With what looked to be a bit of a blowout for the Nets, the Mavs fought back with some great outside shooting, and converting on their FTs.

Game Notes:

Both squads had an enormous 11 TOs each!
Mavs recorded 11 steals
Only 1 Net recorded double figures in points!

HOME
Godfrey lead all scores with 15 points. Along with 3 rebounds, 3 dimes & 1 steal.
Harris added 13 points with 3 assists and 2 steals.
Dirk the only other Mav in double figures with 12 points, and season high 8 rebounds.
Jet Terry added 8 points, 4 assists and 4 steals.

AWAY
Kidd lead the Nets with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 dimes.
Carger, Jefferson & Magloire all added 9 points each.

Season Record:
6-7


A great win at home against the visiting NJ Nets, but there is still plenty of room for improvement as the Mavs fear dominiation against bigger lineups.
 
Game 14 VS Wizards - 12th September, 2007
LOSS 69-55


Dear oh dear....
Despite the efforts of Dirk Nowitzki, the Mavs suffer a crushing loss at home which was still on the table to be had at the end of the 3rd, and now leaves the Mavs saying "Where do we go from here?".
Not a very satisfying game for any Mavs Fan.

Game Notes:

Mavs shot a dismal 5/22 from 3pt land.
Wizards out-passed the Mavs 21-9.


HOME
Dirk's best performance thus far, as he lead the Mavs with 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks.
Harris the only onther Mav in double digits with 13 points.

AWAY
Butler lead the Wizards with 11 points & 4 rebounds.
Jamison added 10 points & 6 boards.
Agent 0, Gilbert Arenas added 6 points, and 10 assists.

Season Record:

Very upsetting loss for the Mavs squad. Do we write this one off as a bad game, or is there more to it?
 
Game 15 VS Clippers - 13th September, 2007
WIN 65-60


Dirk Stops Clippers!!!

The Mavs opened this one with a slow pace, letting the Clipper get an early lead, before cutting it to within 3 at half time. Started the 3rd on a 10-0 run and opened the game wide up. Start of the 4th saw the Clippers start what would be their last run for the win. Enter Dirk Nowitzki. Dirk with 2 solid block shots in the last 20 seconds saw the Mavs put a stop to the Clippers run, and seal the win with the late foul shots.

Game Notes:

Clippers unable to score 1 3pt shot.
Clippers made a whopping 22/24 FTs
Mavericks with a HUGE 11-0 advantage on the Blocked Shots

Dirk lead the Mavs with 21 points, 5 rebouds, 2 steals and 5 blocked shots.
Harris added 13 points and 7 dimes
Godfrey added 11 points
Terry added 10 points
DeSagana Diop was solid with 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal and 3 blocks.

AWAY
Elton Brand lead the Clippers with 13 points and 8 rebounds.
Maggette added 12 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals
Cassell totalled 10 points and 6 assists.

With 14 games left in the season, the Mavericks are currently 4.5 games behind #1 Seed in the West (2 places outside #8). It is still possible to make the Playoffs, but there's still quite a few tough teams coming up (Hornetts, Bulls, Suns & Jazz).

It doesnt look like All-Star Weekend is on, only the actual All-Star Game.
 
Game 16 VS 76ers - 14th September, 2007
LOSS 67-52


Crawford comes to town, and goes to town.

Unable to contain Jamal Crawford, the Mavericks watch as a couple of points blew out to 15 as the 76ers took advantage of all the Mavericks missed oportunities.

Jason Terry lead the Mavs scoring with 16 points. Adding 3 dimes & 2 steals.
Godfrey added 15 off the bench.
Dirk tallied 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 steals.

AWAY
Crawford lead all scores with 25 including 10/16 shooting, also taking 4 steals.
Glenn Robinson added 18 off the bench
Kevin Ollie added 5 points, and 11 assists.

Season Record:

4 Games remain until the All-Star Game, Devin Harris is 4th in Western Conference PGs, Dirk leads all PFs with 20,673 votes.

The Mavericks dropped to 5 games behind #1 Seed, and 4 games outside the 8th spot.

There is still hope, but the next 4 games will really test the Mavericks with trips to New Orleans, Indiand and Phoenix, and a home game against the Bulls.
 
Game 17 @ Hornetts - 14th September, 2007
LOSS 71-56


Hornetts too tough for visiting Mavs.

Simply put, the Hornetts straight owned the Mavs. When there was a slight chance the Mavs were coming back in this one, the Hornetts would drop a couple of quick un-answered baskets, and jump out to another distant lead.

Nowitzki lead the Mavs charge with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 2 block shots
Godfrey also had 13 points, along with 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal.
Harris had 11 points, 3 assists and 5 steals.
Terry also had 11 and 3 assists.

In preparing for the trip to Indiana, Jerry Stackhouse has developed a sore knee, and is likely to suffer for 3 days, but should still be able to play through the slight injury.

Mavs Rookie shines, whilst the Mavs bring their D-Game, and stop the Pacers in Indiana.

Still being able to see the light, the Mavs are yet to get their foot in the Door for the Playoffs.

WIN 61-50


Once again, the Mavericks D proves a stopping point as they close out the Bulls in a home win.

Mavs points in the Paint = 40
Bulls points in the paint = 28
Mavs notched 11 steals


HOME
Nowitzki lead the Mavs with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals & 1 block shot.
JET added 14 points on 3/5 outside shooting.
Godfrey was great again with 14 points & 3 boards.
Harris was THE defensive machine with 5 points, 1 rebound, 6 dimes, and 5 steals.

AWAY
Gordon lead all scores with 21 on 9/15 shooting.
PJ Brown added 13 points & 6 rebounds.
Hinrich played general with 4 points and 7 assists.

Less than 50% the Mavs are currently sitting in #7 Seed for the Western Conf. Playoffs. They would face Phoenix should the Playoffs start today.

10 Games remain in the season.

The Golden State Warriors offered the Mavs Troy Murphy for Erick Dampier. A trade that the Mavs will not consider. Whilst they do have an interest in moving Dampier, but only for another Center, with a lesser contract.
 
Game 20 @ Suns - 22nd September, 2007
LOSS 77-58


Suns broke out to a 22 point lead after the 1st quarter and never looked back.

Game Notes:

Suns out-rebounded the Mavs 32-22
Suns had 19 fast break points to Mavs' 5

Marion lead the charge with a game-high 25 points, and 13 rebounds (5 off), also adding 2 assists and 3 steals.
Nash added 16 points & 8 dimes.
Diaw was great with 8 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.

AWAY
Dirk lead the Mavs with 20 points & 3 offensive rebounds.
Terry added 16 points, including 9 points in 10 seconds early in the 4th.
Harris added 10 points and 6 dimes.
Godfrey added 10 points and 5 boards.

The Mavs rejected the Trade offer from the Warriors, and also another from Charlotte (1st Rnd Pick - next yrs for Deavon George).

They now sit in #8 Seed in the West, barley in the Playoffs. The Suns still sit in #2 spot, with Houston in #1.

Dirk Nowitzki leads all votes in the All-Star Starters, 475 more than Lebron James for the East.

Harris is #3 in the MVP award.
Godfrey is #5 in the ROY award.
Godfrey is #1 in the 6th Man award.
Harris is #1 in the MIP award.

Whilst these awards are nice to be in the top 5, they're not going to mean much if the Mavs don't make the Finals.
 
2007 All-Star Weekend - 22nd September, 2007

BREAKING NEWS!!!

Devin Harris is offered the reserve roll as PG for the Western Conference All-Stars (behind Allen Iverson).

Dirk Nowitzki is the starting PF for the Western Conference All-Stars.


Eastern All-Stars take the 2007 All-Star Weekend Game 66-60.

In a close game, point for point, sometimes steal/TO for steal/TO. It was definately a game for the fans, with dunks, alley-oops, and jaw-dropping blocked shots.

Agent 0 lead the East with 13 points, 6 assists & 3 steals.
KG added 11 points & 7 rebounds.
Kidd had 11 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists & 2 steals.
LBJ added 10 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists & 2 steals.
Shaq had 8 points, 7 rebounds.

Gilber Arenas took the 2007 All-Star Weekend MVP award.
 
BREAKING NEWS!!! 22nd September, 2007

The Utah Jazz have offered the Dallas Mavericks C Okur for G Stackhouse.
The Mavs tried to tweak the trade, and ende up having to add a 2nd Rnd Draft Pick also.

The Mavs will now look to move C Dampier before the Trade Deadling next week.
 
TRADE DEADLINE MEGA TRADE!!!

On the last day before the 2007 NBA Trade Deadline, the Mavs pulled off 2 successful trades.

First, they sent C Erick Dampier, G Anthony Johnson & G Maurice Ager to the Toronto Raptors for F Andrea Bargnani + the expiring contracts of Pop Sow & Darrick Martin. Making some cap room, and Roster space for the coming off-season.

The Mavericks the turned to Chicago for another trade.

The Mavs sent G Jason "Jet" Terry in return for G Ben Gordon, F Luol Deng & 1st Round Draft Pick.

The Bulls wanted to include F Tyrus Thomas if the Mavs included Andrea Bargnani, but the Mavs decided to keep hold of the Shooting Star Forward.
 
Game 21 @ Jazz - 26th September, 2007
LOSS 77-63


Utah too strong for the new-look Mavs

Game Notes:

Kirilenko lead the Jazz with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists & 2 blocks.
Fisher added 13 points & 8 dimes.
Stackhouse added 12 points.
Boozer added 10 points & 7 rebounds.


AWAY
Gordon & J-Ho lead the scoring with 14 a piece. The only 2 Mavs in double digits scoring.
Harris added 7 points, 3 dimes & 4 steals.
Okur added 7 points, 2 rebounds, 2 dimes, 1 steal & 1 block shot.
Bargnani was great off the bench with 7 points & 6 rebounds.
Godfrey had another solid performance with 6 points, 2 rebounds, 4 dimes, 3 steals.

Whilst the new look Mavs looks great on paper, it may take a couple of games to gel together as a team, but this is something that the Mavs cannot afford to do.

Now dropped to 1 place outside the 8th seed, with 1 game behind the Kings. Advantage here, is the Mavs have 8 games remaining, while the Kings only have 4.
 
Game 22 VS Raptors - 27th September, 2007
WIN 68-56


New look Mavs take control over the visint Raptors.

Game Notes:

Mavs converted on 7/19 three point shots.
Raptors had 10 TOs.
Mavs had 10 Steals.


HOME
Harris lead the Mavs charge with 14 points, 12 assists & 4 steals.
Gordon added 13 points, but shot a dismal 0/4 from downtown.
Dirk added 13 points also, along with 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block shot.
Okur was great inside with 7 points, and 8 rebounds (2 off), also 1 block shot.



AWAY
TJ Ford lead the Raptors with 17 points, 5 assits. He was the only Raptor in double digits scoring.
Bosh added 9 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Rash had 5 points, 6 rebounds.

Season Record:
10-12


The Mavs 10th win of the season, still not enough to put them in the Playoff picture yet. Still behind the Kings.

There's still hope for the Mavs to make the Playoffs, but it's a tough road there. With games against the Wolves, Bobcats, Warriors, Celtics, Cavs, Sonics & Lakers.
 
Game 23 @ T'Wolves - 27th September, 2007
LOSS 66-58


Wolves bite definatly worse than their bark!!

Game Notes:

Wolves shot 20/25 FTs
Wolves racked 10 Offensive Rebounds
Mavs had 15 Steals


HOME
Telfair led all scores with 22 points, 9 assists (also had 9 TOs).
Gomes was huge with 14 points, 7 rebounds (3 off), 2 assists and 1 steal.
Griffin & Jefferson both had 6 points, and 8 rebounds.


AWAY
Harris lead the Mavs squad with 16 points, 11 assists, and amazing 9 steals (5, 5, 5 after the first quarter!).
Nowitzki added 12 points & 7 rebounds.
Gordon added 11 points
Okur had 4 points, 4 rebounds.

After a shocking loss against the T'Wolves, the Mavs now drop 3 places out of the #8th seed. 6.0 games behind #1 seed, but only 0.5 games behind the #8 seed.

There's still plenty of wax left on the candle, but it needs to burn a lot brighter than it currently is.

LOSS 71-63


Wallace & the Bobcats come to Dallas, and walk out victors.

Game Notes:

Mavs poor shooting 21.4% 3PT.
Bobcats 29 rebounds (Mavs 16).
Mavs 9 block shots.

Dirk lead the Mavs scoring with 17 with 4 rebounds & 3 blocks.
Harris added 14 points, 7 dimes, 2 steals.
Godfrey added 10 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals & 1 block shot.

Felton lead Bobcats scoring with 14, along with 7 dimes & 3 steals.
J-Rich added 13 points, 3 boards, 2 dimes.
Wallace added 11 points, 5 rebounds.

With 5 games remaining, and still 3 spots outside the Playoffs, the Mavs are now a full game behind 8th Seed (Kings - 3 games left) who are only 1 win infront of Lakers (5 games left) & Grizzlies (3 games left).

With a change in the standings, the Kings were dropped out of the playoff perspective list, as the Grizzlies got their latest win (and the Kings lost).

The Mavs, now half a game behind both teams, head to Boston as they start a 4-game road trip to close the regular season off.
