Hi guys, just noticed something on ebay that I thought people should be cautious of if nothing else, I am not looking to discredit anyone, but I have questions... firstly, here is one of the ads...

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/252788415631

I put a disgustingly low $100 bid on a steph curry rookie auto, which was less than half the buy it now price, and the offer was immediately accepted, which made me more suspicious, but the feedback scores are high, apart from 1 neutral, from someone saying there auto is not genuine... looking into any description of the cards, I noticed they are advertising a random base card, with the autographed card as a bonus extra... all very strange, I also don't think that Jordan or Ty Cobb etc would sign cards sent to his personal address, and the prices are all low...

Anyway, I guess the question in all of this is, am I missing something? Is this buyer somehow legit? My order was cancelled on my request, but I also don't want to say someone is dodgy if they aren't...

My guess is offering the Jordan auto as a "bonus" allows the seller to avoid complaints if/when the authenticity is challenged as technically you are paying for the base card only. Similar to how people sell break spots by offering an index card and as a bonus a spot in a break.

Agree you can't outright say it's dodgy, but it doesn't pass the sniff test so stay away.
