Hey Guys,

I'm thinking of producing a documentary on the unique culture of Australian Sportscard collectors for Australian TV.

I'm working on my pitch at the moment and I would love some help from you guys.

Firstly, can anyone here tell me some of the ridiculously high prices that some Simmons rc;s have gone for? I can't find any on ebay sold listings etc, and I need facts, not heresay... pics would be awesome too. I can't find and black 1/1 rc pics out there either.

Also, as a bball collector, can anyone tell me what are the rarest/most valuable AFL and NRL cards? I know the 63 Scanlens obviously, but that's the extent of my knowledge. lol

If I get this off the ground, I will be looking here for some of the best collectors in Australia who want to show off their collection on TV:)

I know for a fact that a Ben Simmons signature card got pulled form a Goodwins Box as it was busted in store in front of everyone. Do you want me to follow it up and see with the store owner/ person who pulled it sold or keeped it ect
Alternatively I can pass on your contact details?
Hope this helps.

Most people use sortsof.com to find final prices of ebay sales. It's easy to use and free.

Good luck with the pitch, I hope it all goes well!

You should interview Panini reps/distribution and enquire as to why all the massive hits get sent to China/Korea...

This is interesting WOC. I was talking to a mate who had a good general conversation with Dave & Adam from DACW at the national a couple of years back.

He was very surprised to find that DACW ship 5-10x more product to Asia because NBA cards is a far larger market in Asia than the US.

This makes me think that its not a case of them sending the best hits there, its just they have a 5-10x higher chance of pulling the good stuff.

The same mate said some asia card stores owners walk around the national with 10s of thousand of USD cash buying up like crazy. Some of the asia stalls set up there had multiples of just about every single 97/98 PMG Greens in their display cases including 3x Kobe's!
