How do I stop notifications?

Can someone please tell me how to stop getting emails sent to me everytime someone adds to a conversation? I am sick of my phone beeping at me every ten minutes... Sorry for the hijack didnt want to start a new thread

In your settings, under Contact Details, third checkbox under Messaging Preferences.
