with COMC's prices going up and timelines being extended for basic services I did just research and found a website called mymailbox.com

From what I can see, they don't specialize in cardboard like comc do but will still send you a photograph / scan of the item as it arrives at $1 per item. They do also however allow for things like memorabilia to be sent or forwarded on along with your cards which to me is a huge bonus as I'm currently being stung via the global shipping program for each memorabilia item I buy.

They claim they have been sending cards to Australia since August 2014 with no hiccups, is anyone on here one of their customers? I'm interested in giving them a crack but would prefer to hear some reviews first.

Any and all thoughts or feedback would be appreciated.

I too would like to know if someone has used myMallBox.com before.

I've been correspondence with them over the last few days regarding the details of processing, shipping and costs...etc. All in all, it seems legit but of course there is always a concern if they are not experienced in trading cards or memorabilia.

$1 for confirmation of package is very reasonable, as are their shipping rates which you can choose from USPS to DHL.

Is it $3 flat rate shipping for uninsured small packages like COMC?

Who is liable if not insured? them or you?

Although, no one wants to lose mail, COMC have been good to people in the past who have not received their packages, by giving credit to equal or higher value.

$3 flat rate across the planet does not apply to those cards that were bought and sent to the COMC mailbox. That is considered the Advanced Buying Mode, so you get charged the $0.25 per card.

I think COMC does offer great service with its Mailbox service, but is only worthwhile in buying singles of a certain value since you have to add the often $1.45 fees on top ($1 processing, $0.20 toploader, $0.25 shipping). It does not encourage the purchase of $1 cards off ebay, nor would you use it to buy in bulk, if many of the other cards are small.

I think we should all work together to find an alternative to COMC mailbox for buying lots and trading with US people, not just a straight forwarding service though, should allow storage and batching of mail.

I've been using MyMallBox for about 2 weeks now...after @nichj99 first bought it to my attention.

I must say, for a parcel forwarding service who do not specialise in cards, they are pretty good. There are a few things that I feel they need to improve on but for a new company, I think the service has been great thus far.

Package Receiving: They receive Monday to Friday. Mail delivered on Saturdays will not be received until next business day, usually Monday.

Package Confirmation: Items are usually confirmed on the day via e-mail with a brief description of item, and merchant's name. Image confirmation is optional and is charged at $1 per package. So to confirm the receipt of a package containing 1 card or many cards, it's still $1.

Item identification: A brief description for each package content will appear on your dashboard like this:

Customer Service: Can't complain. My experiences have been positive...so far. E-mails are usually responded within 24hrs...I think time difference also players a factor, we are only 14hrs ahead...so the bulk of their working hours are during the hours where most of us are sleeping.
Have not had a "I'll pass this along..." response yet :)

There is no direct e-mail or phone number, but a support ticket system for customer inquiries. I have no problem with this, as the response has usually been pretty quick.

I have not requested shipment yet , so I can't comment on the repackaging and shipping process, and I hope I don't jinx myself by providing positive feedback. They offer a repackaging service for free, as parcels are not only calculated by weight but also dimensions. Storage for items is 3 months maximum. Shipping, I believe they only offer express shipping options from DHL and USPS. After being charged as much as $330 USD for shipping from COMC, I have no problem paying $50 - $100 to have my packaged delivered via DHL Express. There is free insurance for the first $100, and I think it costs more if you want to insure the package for more than $100. I believe payment occurs after you have requested shipment, so no need for adding credit in advance. They also have quite a few promotional codes floating around the internet that can be credited to the account.

Just looking at more cost effective measures to save some coin, can I just clarify some things @jkidd05?

Its $1 processing per package irrelevant of what it is or quantity? The another $1 for an optional pic?

Do they also remove all existing bubble mailers etc and put each item into their own box/airbag?

Roughly how many cards would get you under 4lbs to save on the cheaper postage rates?

Hey @wjrwebber, Ryan from MyMallBox here.

So far @jkidd05 has been pretty spot-on with his information, but I wanted to step in and answer some of your questions. The $1 fee is only for photo confirmation (it's $1 per photo), the only other fees that we have are return fees and transaction fees when using our Buy for Me service. We also offer a repackaging service for free, so we'll make your shipments as small as possible and put them in our own packaging, if you choose that option. I think that you should be able to get at least 600 cards under 4lbs if you're trying to get a bulk, but obviously for rared cards with thicket plastic sleeves, that number would go down dramatically. Unfortunately, I can't find any information on that. If you have any other questions, please let me know!

There is no processing fee per package. You only get charged $1 if you ask for a photo of your item.

The bubble mailers are removed should you want to consolidate your items into one box. Top loaders, team bags, count boxes, filler cards are not removed.

But I'm sure if you prefer a way of packaging, they will try their best to comply.

All of my packages have been around 10lbs, I usually average between 200 - 400 cards per shipment. I also buy supplies as well and you also have to factor in top loaders, one touch holders...etc.

I would definitely recommend giving MMB a try.

For a company that do not specialise in trading cards, they do a good job. And you don't have to put up with COMC's ridiculous attitude and policies.

Might have to check this service out. Getting sick of paying 24 bucks for one card mailed from ebay sale.

You wont be disappointed when you change over, really does depend on how many cards you get and how long you can handle youre stuff accumulating. For a good postage time you would pay around that same price but you can get heaps more cards/supplies sent.
I have this problem of once a big card gets in I just want it sent home NOW!! so sometimes I don't save anywhere near as much as I could but do feel safer with their shipping then the old USPS no tracking, card will arrive one day... after 3 weeks starting to stress, 4 weeks majorly panicking and so on, that we have all undoubtedly experienced!

If you are just looking for a random thing here and there, feel free to use mine mate I would have no problems with that:thumbsup:.

Appreciate that mate.
I have flipped them an email, requesting details of signing up etc.
The amount of stuff I get shipped over from the US, guess I really need something like this.
There is so much more stuff I would have purchased, if it weren't for exorbitant postage costs.

Thanks for your help. This might sound stupid, but how do you guys make money then? I wouldn't require pictures if I received a brief description and more often than not there is a delivery confirmation on my orders via eBay so I would be happy enough with this outcome. I wouldn't be using the 'Buy for Me' feature either. So as I understand, there would only be fees for packaging my multiple orders from your mail box service?

This is just the skeptic in me thinking this is too good to be true!
