As Americans from coast to coast take time today to celebrate the Fourth of July (with food, family, fireworks, fun and perhaps even a few fastballs), we thought now was the perfect time to preview the patriotic With Honors insert slated for Panini America’s upcoming 2012 Cooperstown Baseball.
The star-spangled 10-card chase honors those heroic members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame – Jackie Robinson, Stan Musial, Joe DiMaggio and others — who served time in the military during their baseball careers fighting to keep America free.
As we celebrate another Independence Day, With Honors provides a colorful, fitting tribute to a handful of heroes who were as legendary on the diamond as they were serving in the armed forces. And it should serve as a proud remember of the heroic men and women in the military — past, present and always — who put their country before themselves.
