why does it not suprise anyone? no matter how much potential or talent someone has, the nba doesnt need guys like that around

Why would he do something as dumb as that? Just "revived" his career, now there's a chance he could throw it away. Judging on past instances like this one with NBA players, he should be right though.

Actually I was fan of DM. and I bought and collected his cards when he was rookie.

It always seemed to me that his character was a bit of an issue, and then he went to the Jailblazers. I think it was one of those thing, young guy truckloads of money and just didn't every really get with a good crowd. Just spiralled downwards from there.

I could not agree with you anymore! I think Tarpley back in 90's for the Mavs is a perfect example.
