A couple additions to my Scanlens Cricket collection

1981 WSC set (in magnificent condition)
1989/1990 set (last one made by Scanlens)

Thanks to the clown on ebay that packed the 89/90 set in sleeves and sent them to me in a express post satchel.

I appreciated the creases and bends. I hope you appreciated my negative feedback.:fist::fist::fist::fist:

That 1981 set is an all time favourite of mine....first ever set I collected!

Nicely done Owen, the 1981 set is a true classic, also the first one I collected as a 5 year old....very fond memories with that and the cricket sticker books in particular.

The 89/90 set is the second-last one made by Scanlens, the red 90/91 series is the last one:

Scanlens actually ceased business in 1990 and Stimorol took over sole production in 1991. If you have a look at that 90/91 set there is no mention of scanlens on it.

Stay tuned for the next issue of ASCC magazine. im currently writing/researching a history of Scanlens for it.

No mention of Scanlens on the back of the 1990/91 cards but there is on the packs and also the box...

im not really sure why that is but i am 100% sure that Scanlens ceased operation in 1990 and sold everything to Stimorol and they teamed up with PBL marketing. I got those details from various old company reports and someone that worked there at the time. May have to do some more digging on that one........
