Buying boxes on eBay

What are people's thoughts on buying boxes on eBay?

My concern is that people put their s#%t boxes up without declaring that those boxes have come cases that have been searched.

For example - a series has a particular card that is 1 or 2 per case. The seller cracks a case, pulls the awesome 1 per case insert then lists the rest of the boxes on eBay at normal price.


I know most people here are good honest people but let's face it, there are plenty of shonks on eBay

What do people reckon? Avoid eBay for boxes??

thats the risk you take if you buy from ebay unfortunately. I haven't purchased myself but could def see that as a possibility!

Hi Adam,

You've highlighted a pretty well known risk, so the circumstances, the seller and their history have to be taken into account. Imo there are some great box sellers on eBay and there are some really dodgy ones.

ESP have seriously reduced the problem by not generally having one big hit per case (except for maybe a Traders sig, but they are not one per case anyway) however, it's a big problem with Select releases.

Buying loose PACKS is even more of an issue. I'd only buy a loose pack off eBay to keep for display purposes.
