Hi everyone,

Just got back from spending 2 days in Melbourne from watching the first game of the Boomers vs USA game.

Went to Card Zone, @cherrycollectables and had a look around at a heap of other places.

Thought I would do a quick recap on the night.

I got there just as the gates opened and while security was tight, it didn't take long to get in.

Watched the end of the opening game (Hawaii vs Indigenous All Stars - Nate Jawai was watching on) and when that was finished due to not many people being in the section we were allowed to go up to the court and watch shoot around which was awesome to be up close with the players.

If you are into people spotting........it was a great night. Was standing right next to Marcus Bontempelli during shoot around, we saw Lamelo Ball and RJ Hampton watching on. We saw Russell Crowe, Jenna O'Hea, Shaun Burgoyne, a few of the Melbourne Storm players.

We saw Tim Hardaway (who I think had a few drinks) with Allan Houston. Also saw Darryl McDonald who seemed really popular with the fans.

The game was great.......had the Aussies rebounded better and made less errors had no doubt the result would have been a bit closer. Kemba was a star for the USA along with Tatum, Kuzma and Mitchell.

I didn't take any pics during the game (official ones will be better) as they were making sure people we sitting down and not getting in the way of others (plus I wanted to enjoy the game) but after the game I hung around a bit and saw Gaze and Heal doing their post game wrap up.

After the game we were up outside the Victory Room where there was some function going on and a few of the Australian players (Mitch Creek, Nathan Sobey and Luc Longley were up there walking around).

Now I can completely understand how so many people would have been upset about not being able to see the court from the floor I was in Row M (section A3) in the Floor section and while I could see ok but any further back on the floor you would have struggled to see.

Have to say if anyone has seats in the lower bowl area I think these will be great seats despite the distance from the court.

Hope you enjoyed the photos and next stop is USA vs Canada on Monday night in Sydney!

Cheers
Matt
