You probably dont have all the up-to-date "codecs" installed on your PC.

Bingo - download Klite Codec Pack off the net .. will solve your problems.

And the download really wasnt worth it .. I was expecting an explosion, that was more of a dribble.

kidd an avi is a videofile so you ahve the wrong codecs as hill pointed out, dont bother downloading individual codecs guys when you cna get a program called vlc from videolan.org for a program which runs all video files perfectly it also auto-updates it's codecs
