Sometime ago a collector requested that ESP replace 2 Andrew Johns signature error card, the error cards in question were card 1 and card 7. The collector allegedly express posted the cards to ESP via the Australia post network. When the express post envelope arrived at ESP it was empty of both cards 1 and 7 and all that was received by ESP was two empty top loader sleeves.

ESP has been in constant contact with the collector over the past few months, ESP is now satisfied the collector has delivered to ESP the required police report, Australia post reports and associated insurance report along with a signed statutory declaration in relation to this matter.

ESP now deems the Andrew Johns signature error card numbers 1 and 7 to be worthless, if anyone sees the cards advertised for sale or trade please contact ESP immediately with the details of the seller/trader. ESP will immediately report to the Police if the cards are found in anyone’s possession and criminal charges will be pressed.

We are pleased that we have been able to resolve this matter to the satisfaction of ESP and the collector.

To say that the police are involved with these is a step forward if true.
At least some credibility can be given to tla to trying to resolve the matter.
It wuld be interesting to know if aus post do any investigating, relating to this matter or other matters, ie the parcel hacked into, cards that go missing via registered post.
Are they going missing or damaged through a certain channel, area etc.

2 empty envelopes with top loaders sounds suss. Maybe the original owner was trying to double dip and have both of them but didn’t realise how it would play out ?
Also that one that was advertised was the replacement . If the owner was issued the replacement #1 and #7 ,then maybe it is just a spare unnumbered card that had #1 written on it ? Or as someone mentioned had nail polish on it ,but not sure how that would come up ?
Either way it’s really tainted a great card especially for the legit owner of the #1 ,as there will always be a cloud over it .

Also thanks to everyone on here for the info on it , when I first knew it was for sale I was about to offload a few high end cards to chase it .

The whole thing from word go was just one complete stuff up.
Who the f does not check such a high end card from the get go.
Then to top that off, the card is not even number stamped it is written on with black marker.
Suely whoever was in charge of that release did not pass the drug test.
The buck stops at the top, obviously it was not stopped, someone had a bloody long long lunch.
And have the coa,s been issued for the replacement cards.
NO.

I feel vindicated now Dave as i was very vocal at the time about the texta numbering issue and the fact that something like this may happen in the future.

The bigger issue for me (and many, many other collectors) is the integrity issues this and other incidents raise and the lack of accountability from TLA. As previously mentioned, if this was Select there would be individuals absolutely going to town on them.

Tap n Play had similar issues and they were caned on this site and others.

The buck stops with TLA, in particular the individual in charge. Three seperate eBay accounts all linked back in some way selling cards that would have been in TLA’s office or should have been in cases.
