Bid on them and send it to a contact in the US, its only $1.95 to send there...then have them redirect them to you at only $3. Think outside the square :D

The bottom two auctions are using a shipping calculator, not a price set by the seller. In general, you may find that contacting the seller before bidding and asking for a more reasonable shipping price will give good results, especially when they seem to have no idea about the charges (ie. no information in their auction about international shipping, and just using a USPS calculator).

I'll tell you why these foolish people charge so much for postage internationally? Here's why, THEY SIMPLY DO NOT WANT TO SHIP OUTSIDE OF THE U.S.A. They 99% of the time deliberitely set an extremely excessive shipping cost in order to deter any and ALL international bidders. It's usually because the seller has had a lot of trouble from bidders outside of the USA complaining about postage in the past(which originally may have been around $20) and/or most bidders outside of the US have been fraudulent and non-paying bidders which have dealt with him. So I can see where's his coming from trying to keep control of who bids on his items, but at the same time I still too would like some of the sh$t he's smoking, LOL!

Then why not just list the auction as US only?

Maybe he now wants some poor guy internationally to get stuck into winning and then try and fork out the $100+ dollars on postage:rolleyes:. And he'd always be in the right because he will simply stand by "I had listed the postage cost and terms in my ad description". And maybe he wants the close to home market to still bid, like Canada and down to Mexico. Cos if he was to choose "No International Shipping" then he'd lose these Canadian, etc bidders which he's still prepared to sell to and deal with.
I dont know guys, just my 2cents.=D>

You can actually select which regions you want to ship to like US, Canada, Asia, Australia etc..

It's crazy for a low-value card like this, but if it's for a high value card it is very expensive to send it with tracking and insurance. I live in Canada and I had 2 buyers not willing to pay because they didn't contact me for shipping fee prior to buying and complained about shipping fee being too high. But the truth was that it would cost me $70 Cdn to send to them but they were willing to pay $20. Shipping is not cheap in all countries, so please find out the shipping fee before you call all people who charge high postage "foolish". Sometimes we simply don't have the choice.

$70 to send a card? Is the envelope encrusted with diamonds? The most I have been charged for express, registered mail for a large bubble envelpoe from the US is $25. How in the world do you justify $70? Is that including petrol to drive to Australia?

Who said that Nissan doesn't know the cost? He has every right to call him Foolish actually. Shipping costs are freely available to check on the UPS website. Most of us here deal with US members online, whether it be on ebay or here, and know what it costs. No card cost that much to send from the US to here, unless it's insured for an arm and a leg.

Correct Mate i have paid on about 70 items i have picked up from the states no more than $4 US and mind you when u get the package it states $1.40 postage so even then we are paying more but i understand the mailer and handling is fair enough but $75 US like you said mate the envelope must be gold with those diamonds encrusted on it:lol::lol:

Obviously you haven't dealt with Canada Post before. It's not justified but that's what they are charging and I'm really pissed about it. And I'm losing many international buyers for my high-end items because of this. I just sent a card to China and it cost me $66.78 for express post with tracking and insurance of $1000 for the item.

To be honest, no I haven't, but the auctions listed in this thread wasn't from Canada. It was the US. So my point still remains valid. An if you're getting charged that much to send a card to China, I'd say move countries if you want to stay in the hobby lol
