I'm really digging the Flair cards at the moment - trying to figure out the difference between row 0, 1, 2, 3 and a few years releases.

The Starquest are pretty low pop still. Not sure why PSA went for the Colours on the label instead of what they were called on the back - Black/Majestic, Blue/Super Rare etc

Avant Card is /201

I love the Donruss stuff from 2010/11. Emeralds, die cuts - the old school look.

Champions is another low pop card still - only 3 10's

And the biggest addition - the USA Gold Refractor jersey numbered 010/100 - randomly came across it and had to have it.

Maybe I am still collecting? :eek:

First Edition (Green) 1:1
Common (Silver) 1:8
Uncommon (Orange)
Majestic (Black) 1:16
Rare (Purple)
Super Rare (Blue)
Ultra Rare (Gold)
 
Love the Avant card. It has reminded me I still have a package pulled Iverson Avant unredeemed redemption card from 2001-02 Showcase. Hard to believe I pulled that over 20 years ago!

That was a redemption ? I wonder why they did that?

Were you too nervous to send overseas to redeem or it just wasn’t possible at the time?
 
Avant cards were really artistic back in the day - reminds me of an early version of Panini Studio in many ways.

Not sure I agree wth the starquest odds - Majestic seems much harder to track donw than 1 in 16, maybe it's just much harder trying to track them down retrospectively.

I thought so too with the Majestic that's why when I seen it so cheap I snapped it up - it was like $18usd - cheaper than grading cost alone for us in AUS

No idea why it was redemption.

I think I never sent because it expired in January 2003 and I pulled it later that year.

Also, the concept of mailing a card to America and getting another one back was likely so foreign to my 21-year old student brain I never even considered it.

See below for pics of front and back. From a quick search I don't think the cards are worth much.

That looks like the next year - still cool though. Still the same question though, I wonder why it was a redemption and not serial numbered or anything cool once you redeemed it.

That's it, definitely 2001-02.

No idea why it just redeems for a normal card. I hadn't actually looked up what you got for redeeming it until today. I think I have always been worried I missed out on something cool.

By the looks of it, I think I prefer that I kept the redemption!

It definitely is cool to have the unredeemed card sometimes too - I picked up the KG Topps RC redeemed card then thought it would be good to go find the redemption card too

great pick ups....looking forward to seeing all the legacies and masterpieces to match the flair!!!!

Avant was such a sweet product. they just got better and better 03/04 has the black and white version which looks even better than the base!

wishful thinking! out of reach now I think!

I did see that Avant B&W though. Num /199 I didn't pick one up yet cause they show the edge wear really bad. I will when i find a nice copy though!
