Thanks to Mayz above

Neil from Tap n play says cards designed with the collector in mind. The parallels are gone replaced by high-end collectable subsets.
The production run has been reduced from 600 to 400 cases 14 signed cards 6 players to sign 100 only cards including patch card from
Alyssa Healy ICC T20 World Cup Match Worn jersey. - This may well become a very collectable card

Also Update 2019-20 cricket series - Release date for those who missed
Neil from Tap n Play advised the cards are in production with a target release date of Dec 9th.

Boxes not cheap @ $1699 a unit but can share value if group purchase a box

So here is another update on this release.

I did have a chuckle that on the official sell sheet there needs to be the statement of "No discounting".

I would love to be super positive about this release (the base cards I do like) but the inserts in my opinion look terrible. No amount of spot UV finish or "soft foiling" can really help these designs.

If you do a breakdown of a case ($4.99 RRP a pack - $1796 RRP - will likely be about $1699 a case through a dealer) the major hits you will get with perfect collation:

1 x Hat Trick Heros - Unsigned #/70 - I would estimate $25 - $50 per card.
5 x Rookie Signatures - #/250 - I would estimate these settling at anywhere between $25 - $40 per card.
3 /4 x Test Gold Parallel - Unsigned #/100 - I would estimate $25 - $50 per card.
1/2 x Finest Signatures or Healy Patch Auto #/100 - I would anticipate these selling between $80 - $150 per card

Even best case scenario return on busting a case:

2 x Finest Signatures ($300), 3 x Test Gold Parallels ($150), 5 x Rookies Signatures ($200) and 1 x Hat Trick Heroes ($50)

Total of the absolute best possible case return for major hits = $700

The low end inserts due to the small size and high frequency of pulling them I do not see them retaining much value at all. If collation is right, you will get multiple sets of these inserts per case which will drive down their value.

In my opinion, this set seems to have less value than previous releases and based on some evidence from a colleague who works at a Woolworths store, for last years BBL cards one store alone has only sold 4 packs since they received the stock (from about 3 boxes).

As I said above, I would love to be super positive about this release, however in my opinion based in the numbers there isn't a great deal to be positive about........but if you are a collector, its fantastic news as it means you will be able to complete the sets quickly and fairly cheaply on the secondary market.

Just my opinion!

Cheers
Matt

Doing the maths on the cards in the set, it really suggests the value should be much higher compared to the quantities of the Futera releases, i think the reality is that cricket card market just isn't big enough to provide any more value, I think the SEP set from 2012/13 is proof of that, as a set with the quality and scarcity of the sigs in that set should be worth so much more.

Anyway on to this set
Leading Wicket takers 4,500 each
Rare Records 2,250 each
Club MVPs 1,000 each
T20 100s 1,200 each
Hat Tricks 70 each
Rookie Sigs 250 each
Australia Finest Sigs 100 each
Test Team 100 each

and then the commons, if there are 7 commons + 1 insert a pack then there are only 5,058 of each common, if its 8 commons + 1 insert per pack the its 5,778 commons each.

so that makes every single card in this set rarer than say a supreme team or specialist Futera insert, and basically every card rarer than an Elite XI Futera insert

I think you are being deliberately negative here, if you are selling most those inserts at those prices i will be a buyer from you

if you assign each card a value then you will get somewhere greater than the case cost
allocated as
wicket takers $1.50 each
Rare Records $3 each
MVPs $4 each
T20 100s $5 each, these may even be more as they are numbered
Hat Tricks $100 each, you dont see any ultimate performers around for less than $100 so i think that is a fair comparison
Rookie Sigs $50 each
Finest Sigs $125 each
Foil Test $100 each, as with the hat tricks
Rookie Sigs $50 each
10 x common sets $20 each

That comes to about $1,900 per case

And if as you say there is unsold stock at woolworths from last season, that means less of these will actually be out in the public domain so could actually make some very hard to come by

A gentleman's agreement of somewhat...... who the fuck are we kidding lol Old mate will be the first to discount this crap and stuff over the resellers.

On the website it has a pre-sale discount, buy 10 cases and basically get one free?

The one that really gets me is that if you buy a box they give you a signature card for free or a set of the inserts from the release.

If there is a way to de-value your product, this is surely it!
