There's a small portion of members here that follow the Knicks & a large portion that love to bash the Knicks, I've decided to start a thread for the upcoming season. It's going to be a terrible season however it's the start of a new era for the Knicks. I'm happy for 1 main reason and the pics below should indicate why.

Sorry guys, but the Knicks suck, I'll bet Miami wins more games with a far more depleted roster than the Knicks!!

While Miami may have won the least games last year, despite getting rid of Shaq, having Wade out for a lot and an unfortunate series of events, NY has to have the most ridiculously overrated players!

Here's to hoping you move Randolph, Curry and Marbury. But for the record, I do like D'Antoni, and I like Nate and David Lee :)

I still support them, even in their worst times. Bringing Allan Houston back makes me want to shout for Spree as well!

I think with Mike D in charge they will run, run and run.......I think that they have some ok players, they just need to allow them to play.

I hope that David Lee gets lots of playing time this year!!

Cheers
Matt

One great thing for the Knicks is that Isiah is gone... Thats a great start. Getting the players to work together in sync will be a task for coach D to do...

Goodluck to you guys!

Would you like to put a wager on that comment champ. Not talking money but maybe some cards LMK.

Just some videos from their recent camp.

Here's some raw footage from a few days ago in Chicago I believe. It looks like D'Antoni's running the plays with an 8 second shot clock......run run run run.

Interview with Crawford, Lee, Rose, Ewing Jr, Gallinari & Houston with Jeffries walking in front of the camera. Patrick Ewing Jr is already putting his hand up for the dunk contest and the players discuss shaving their heads. They seem like a friendly group.

Topic of conversation here is the election, Seattle's move & D'Antoni shaving his head and or moustache if they make the playoffs.

Leigh, interested to know what you believe will be the rotation for the season? I stayed away from pretty much the entire team fantasy wise due to logjams everywhere on the roster, and medicrety, but am curious to know who you believe will be the guys to watch :)

If Ewing gets a run in the roster watch out for a smashed backboard & The guys yelling "CHICO" when they get injured. Danilo Gallinari called for ice and tape during a session by yelling "chico!" at the nearest trainer. Now all the guys do it.

But on a more serious note It sounds like Lee will be strong who looks more focused and poised on defense and willing to take a big shot, Nate if he can get some time from Duhon & Marbury sounds like his at the top of his game & Marbury is supposed to be focused going into this year and I expect him to do well alongside Houston.

So you're thinking Lee, Randolph, QRich, Crawford and Marbury starting. With Duhon, Robinson, Curry, Gallinari and possibly Ewing off the bench? Where might Wilson Chandler fit? Possible SF starter?

That's the issue with the Knicks now, they have some depth to play with in most positions and we will see alot of rotations and experiments from D'Antoni. Wilson Chandler is knocking on the door of QRich which might explain QRich's intensity during practice sessions, it is said that his intensity is almost frightening, he has been animated, screaming, spiking balls, and throwing towels after any miscues in the scrimmages. You can tell he sets the tone for the younger guys by taking practice so seriously.

sure mate, name your price in cards, but before you do. think seriously about it, and remember D-Wade is back. and even before Shaq and the 06 championship, the Heat went to the Conf Finals and playoffs in 3 straight seasons only with a less mature/unstoppable Wade, Lamar Odom, injury-stricken Caron Butler, Brian Grant and aging Eddie Jones.

i'm willing to bet that Wade in peak form, with Marion and Beasley, Udonis Haslem and a bunch of helpers can win more games than the Knicks.

The question is asked in regards to which olympic sport would you compete in other than Basketball. Randolph seems to think he would be good in swimming, he thinks he's a fish under water, I think he would swim like a rock.:lol:

News is that Curry and his future with the Knicks looks like it will be over but he's still set to make $9.7 million this season under a contract that runs through 2011, on the bench. He can wait to the end and back out of his contract but I don't think he will make it that far.

Chandler is in doubt for the season opener against Miami as he heals from his knee injury & I was a bit sad to hear Alan Houston's second long-shot bid to rejoin the Knicks ended when he was waived with the rookie Dan Grunfeld. They picked up the options on forwards Wilson Chandler and Mardy Collins, extending them through the 2009-10 season.

what should be more interesting is that they only cut two, which means there is still one more decision to make. If this means Patrick Ewing, Jr. has a spot that means a veteran contract might have to go. Jerome James, who hasn't played a second of the preseason, seems the most likely candidate. The team would have to eat some (or all) of the $12.8 million left on his contract.

was rooting for allan houston to make a comeback... should be there in the bench just for support and stuff... I'm thinking nate, crawford, lee and chandler can pull the knicks together and make a scramble for the playoffs.

Looking like Chandler might have removed QRich from the starters list already with 12ppg, 7rpg, 1apg, 1bpg and 1spg in the pre-season.

hopefully they offer allan houston a role as a guards coach or shooting coach, i reckon theres a lot he can teach the younger guys.

News in about my main man Pat Jr. A dark cloud has been hanging over his head of late but his spot might be safe.:woot:

The Knicks were leaning towards cutting Patrick Ewing Jr. by Monday's deadline, but now have a lot to think about after his explosion Ewing ignited the Knicks' fourth-quarter comeback vs. the Nets New Jersey Nets with two monster jams and a 3-point dart in a seven-point, nine-minute stint, prompting the Garden to chant "Pa-trick Ew-ing.''.

It's come down to Ewing and the unknown journeyman Anthony Roberson, the sharpshooter with twice the guaranteed contract. Roberson has shot 20 percent this preseason. It stands to be an unpopular choice if Ewing is released.

I would also love to see Jerome James waived but the Knicks want to keep him due to a small lineup and his size is needed, Plus, the Knicks probably feel they can trade his contract next summer in his final year.
